Idk… they don’t seem like they have much guard skill. Imagine ISU starting a lineup of Ward, Bob, King, Watson, and Curtis. That lineup would be tall, and it would cause problems for opposing offenses, but it would also struggle to do a lot of things on the other end.

While I think parts of this are true in a one game scenario trends tend to go away.

Seems like these 'they're slow and not good shooters' types of things (not saying you're saying this) come back around in a bad way at times.

My prediction is WSU will be tight tonight and hopefully ISU matches it and has a chance late.

What I love about this team is they tend to "share the wealth" with having good games.

Milan, Lipsey and Ward had great games. Who will step up tonight? CJ? BRE? King? Coupled with which of the first 3 keeps things rolling?

And whatever inner animal KG has tapped into? Let's see that continue.

I think it's fair to say all 4 of our guards have all stepped it up several notches offensively for 4 games in a row.

Maybe Curtis Jones hasn't, but that's only because he was the only one that has been consistently good through our bad stretch and has remained good.

On one hand, you can definitely say the bar was pretty low offensively. On the other hand, when you have the #1 defense in the country, the value in this can't be overstated.

Ultimately the "this team should tank KC and rest" take won't age well.

The whole team found/re-discovered something, but Milan getting off the schneid in the Baylor game will prove to be a massive development.

Assuming this is the home crowd we think it is I have a lot of confidence about the game today. We’ve won our last 4 games by an average of nearly 20 points.

2 of those against who is now a 3 seed and 1 seed in the tourney and looked really good their first game yesterday.

Unless we completely regress offensively I really like our chances.

ISU wins by 15 or so, the one-day turnaround is not enough time for Wazzu to prepare for the defense of ISU. WSU advantage in height is overcome by the quickness of our guards, which gives Wazzu fits the entire game. Their players have the height while ours are quicker.

Only way this game is close is if the refs call everything and it becomes a free throw shooting contest, or we have one of those games where we cannot hit anything from the outside. Hit 7 to 8 three pointers and play are usual defense and Wazzu is going home for the winter.

They have two posts that start 6'9'' and 6'11''. Their bench isn't huge, that's true.
6' 11" of chonky white guy coming your way! Brodie was dominating these guys. I understand Brodie is a load, but he's just another guy in the Big XII. I think we can handle their size. Big Rob may actually be able to get some one on one matchups down low because Wazzu seemed perfectly comfortable leaving their bigs on an island with Brodie.

Hopefully ISU doesn't revert back to the mean offensively. I'm concerned about Tamin's shoulder, any updates? He seemed to be in a lot of pain.

This looks like a guy Rob and Ward will just feast on.

i am sure that they are very accustomed to playing the way they have been all year. and i am sure that the forwards they have playing guard have some ball skills.

i hope ISU is the one exploiting the mismatches.

Yeah that whole tank in KC thing seems to get fueled from CW every year. It is a horrible take.

I'm feeling really good about this game. Washington State is not that dynamic on the perimeter and they don't have the size to contend with the Iowa State bigs. I think it's a good matchup for the Clones, better than the Drake matchup would have been. Isaac Jones is their one big matchup advantage but I'd favor Iowa State everywhere else.
huh, they are the second tallest team in college basketball, their length may be an issue. It will be harder out there for Milan.

When the brackets come out the assistant coaches scout all 3 teams in our "pod."

Not sure who had the scout on WSU, but like any other game you have to trust that you have a good gameplan and be ready to adjust.
