As is typical for this staff, they've identified and targeted an initial priority list of transfer. Those are the ones we've set up calls or visits with. TJ doesn't miss on many of these.

Jackson and Heise are committed now.

The other two names that have set up visits or calls are:
J'Vonne Hadley from Colorado - is supposed to have a zoom call with TJ this week; was also meeting with Michigan State
William Kyle from SDSU - in-home visit scheduled this week; main competition is said to be Nebraska

If we get those two, they'll probably be done (maybe?) - they fill two needed roles.

Hadley is a 3/4 hybrid, similar in size to Watson with a much better offensive game, especially around the rim / post ups / etc

Kyle is a 4/5 hybrid, a slightly more skilled Hason Ward - maybe slightly less athletic maybe, but with a bit more range / handle on offense. He fully looked the part in matching up with Ward in the tourney game.

If we miss on either of those, I'd expect us to target different players at the '4'.
Agree, our 2 freshmen guards may very well be good enough to play i can't imagine us adding another guard.

I'm going with Ben Carlson as well.
Another one could be Taison Chatman. He played high school bball with Demarion Watson. He had a really high rating coming out of high school but played little at Ohio State. There have been rumors of him leaving for at least a few months now.

They don’t have the depth they had 10 years ago. And I would argue that UK and KU have not been as successful as 10 years ago. Yes KU has a National Championship, but also has only 1 Sweet Sixteen in the last 5 tournaments. UK has one tournament win this decade. Duke and UNC aren’t as dominant as they were 10 years ago. They have both missed a tournament this decade. That did not happen 10 years ago.

The schools who were paying their players in secret had an advantage before. There were some who had no fear of getting caught due to their name. Now that it is all legal, that advantage is gone.
The only change that has made a difference is the transfer rule. Not having to sit out a year has allowed players to leave and keeps schools from stockpiling talent. The NIL is just going to benefit the teams with the most money. Nike is still going to spend most of their money on Duke, UNC & UK just like they always have. Because those schools can't stockpile talent they may not be as deep as they were in the past and maybe that has kept them from having as much success in the tourney but all those schools still have top 10 recruiting classes and most likely will be ranked in the top 10 next year. The real question will be 5 years from now when each team in the SEC & Big 10 have 55 million more just from the media and they can spend it on coaches and NIL. Will that start making a competitive difference? I think where you will start seeing that difference will be football because of the numbers. 5-10 years from now there could be a huge difference in football talent between those conferences and everyone else.

Are you Milan’s family, by chance?

Milan didn’t single handily win us games, no more than hundreds of players single handily win games.

This staff isn’t promising anything at this time to players. It will have to be proven on the court and in practice next year
Way too many people on here want to take other people's opinions personal. Truth is nobody really knows. Have no idea how they will progress in the offseason. My personal opinion is anyone that wants to dumb someone else's opinion or get bent out of shape like this clown can get ******. I just try to refrain from saying it too often.

Right now you can’t spend media money on NIL.

When he was actually on the court and not suspended for not going to class he was a pretty good player for Michigan.

Wasn't going to class? He must have thought he was at UNC. He should have known better being that it's a different color of blue.

Ben Carlson sucks. He needs to be at Mankato State or some crap. He isn't on our level. Especially with just one year left.
He wouldn't be coming here to play a lot of minutes. In fact, I would think of him more as locker room guy that can spell the bigs, when needed.

I think that's a good example of who we should take for the 5th opening (if anyone) - someone with size and experience who doesn't expect to play big minutes - but can defend the post and provide 5 fouls if needed

The disrespect :/ you mean National Champion Minnesota St Mankato?

I grew up with a Lake house near Minnesota State and I keep calling it Mankato state. ALways forget they changed the name. One of my best stories ever was the time I got drunk in the bar, then sat down on the chair in front of the bar with my friend and people kept walking up and handing us their ID's and giving us 5 dollar cover charge. We were just two drunk 23 year olds and walked away with about 120 bucks. Nobody even asked if we worked there

Cannot match that.
I was 20 (below drinking age) but I used to drink at the Peanut Tree in Ames. One night they asked me if I could work checking ID’s.
I asked what it paid and they said all you can eat and drink. I worked all summer. Nobody ever asked how old I was.
