You are trying to twist the meaning. And trying to deflect from the fact that the play at the end of the game was a textbook foul.“Words don’t have meaning” lol

An obvious foul should always be called. (That doesn’t always happen.) But the video posted was not an obvious moving screen.
I keep watching that video and it does not look like an illegal screen to me. I don’t even notice any contact with the UConn player. She didn’t impede any progress of the UConn player on defense. If you are using this to compare the play at the end of the game, you are grasping at major straws. Was the Hok player set?

If you don’t make contact with the defender, YES it is ok. That is not a foul. Was she moving?
Is it OK to move while screening?
It's not the same thing but is it OK to move while screening is the question.
And why didn't CC get called for pushing off?
It was super obvious.Cant take the women's tournament seriously. Clearly the calls are deciding games. With 4 seconds left, the refs should let it play out. No calls unless super obvious. This is definitely fixed.
Why are you so hyped up about this? It absolutely sucks that suckeyes won. That’s what matters. The holier than thou sh*t from Cyclone fans is almost as exhausting as their media coverage. It was super obvious.
The play was super obvious after watching the replay over and over, the girl for UCONN did slide over, but with 8 seconds or whatever they had left, I still do not like the call. Let the players decide on the floor the game. When I was watching it at full speed, it was not nearly as bad as the slow motion version looked. We have reached a point where they can pick apart any play and find fault or a foul. The were a couple of plays last night that the refs missed badly, an out of bounce that went to Iowa and a drive to the hoop that the Iowa girl was not touched but they called a foul anyway. Either one of the those plays looked different after viewing the replay, but you can't watch replay of every play. Let the players on the floor determine the outcome, not the refs. Really I think EIU had the play defended very well, and UCONN would have been lucky to get a decent shot. But I would have liked to seen them get that opportunity. It was super obvious.

When you don’t call any obvious foul, that is the exact opposite of letting the players determine the outcome. In this case, the player determined the outcome by fouling. The play was super obvious after watching the replay over and over, the girl for UCONN did slide over, but with 8 seconds or whatever they had left, I still do not like the call. Let the players decide on the floor the game. When I was watching it at full speed, it was not nearly as bad as the slow motion version looked. I was trying to subtly hint that earlier. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so subtle. This thread is showing that we need to be careful to not start coming off like Iowa fans after the flag on DeJean’s invalid fair catch signal … particularly since Iowa State wasn’t even involved in this situation.
- Watching the play live, particularly with the slo-mo replays, I was a bit skeptical about the call.
- It appeared technically to be a moving screen, but not the type that’s generally called. Especially at that point in the game.
- But, seeing the play run back in full speed (and focusing on the screen instead of the ball, as one does live), it looks super obvious and definitely, aggressively shoving Marshall off her line. And it’s clear that an official seeing that happen in front of them at game speed is probably going to make that call.
- The replay also appeared to show Bueckers was loading up for the game-winning three-point shot at the time; but Stuelke was actually rotating out to guard her. It would not have been an easy shot.
- And don’t forget that Clark missed her second free throw and UConn had the opportunity to get the rebound, call time out, and inbound on the offensive end with a shot to tie/win … but they didn’t get the loose ball.
Walking out and shoving the defensive player is super-obvious. Don't want a foul called? Don't foul.Cant take the women's tournament seriously. Clearly the calls are deciding games. With 4 seconds left, the refs should let it play out. No calls unless super obvious. This is definitely fixed.
This is a discussion board. We discuss sports. There are two things happening here that I also see happen in politics a lot.Why are you so hyped up about this? It absolutely sucks that suckeyes won. That’s what matters. The holier than thou sh*t from Cyclone fans is almost as exhausting as their media coverage.
This is NBA, but the rule applies at all levels:6:03 mark watch Stuelke shes moving the entire time not set. Also it doesn't matter if your feet are shoulder width or "5 feet" apart when it comes to a moving screen.
The let them play is exhausting. And the almost allergic reaction to the Iowa got the benefit from a call (which was a foul) from Iowa State fans is equally exhausting. Why are you so hyped up about this? It absolutely sucks that suckeyes won. That’s what matters. The holier than thou sh*t from Cyclone fans is almost as exhausting as their media coverage.
I think replay showed Clark came down on the foot of the UConn player.I'm also not sure if CC got touched on that 3 and 1 where she acted like she was going to need ankle surgery.
I can't remember which game it was but there was one game where players were literally being knocked down all over the floor and no fouls were called because it was the end of the game, I suppose. The let them play is exhausting.
