They only accept cashless payment throughout the whole stadium. Assuming you’re not asking why retail prices end in “9”.Why $X.49 instead of a flat .50?

It's priced like that to keep the tavern hoks out.I'll keep sneaking my booze in at those prices.
The beer prices seem reasonable compared to the hot dog and soda. Was this put up for George Strait or is this new?

It's a marketing thing. There's been studies that the 49 vs 50 or rather the 99 vs 100 is a huge game changer mentally. Why $X.49 instead of a flat .50?
Yea the real crimes are the soda, water, and hot dogs. The beer prices seem reasonable compared to the hot dog and soda.
The methodology was flawed when the subjects were only hawk fans. They are inherently bad at math. It's a marketing thing. There's been studies that the 49 vs 50 or rather the 99 vs 100 is a huge game changer mentally.
Kind of like the 1/3 pound burger at A&W or maybe Sonic was doing poorly because people thought that the 1/4 pounder was bigger.
/wait in line for 25 minutes/Yea the real crimes are the soda, water, and hot dogs.
First they want beer sales, now they ***** it’s too expensive. JTS is not a dive bar and these aren’t 12 oz keg draws. There are some people who just have to be upset about something, and this is merely the latest low-hanging fruit.
What's really funny is how people already complain about concession stand operation and restroom lines, while somehow believing that adding beer sales won't make those two things worse.
Exactly how are you holding your breathe? It's clear he wants the South end zone to be more premium because of alcohol but they say they need the money so time for Jamie to let beer happen.
I don't drink too get drunk at games so I personally won't buy it unless I see a short line but I'm but holding my breathe.
Are people really that impacted mentally by x9 vs a penny more? It's a marketing thing. There's been studies that the 49 vs 50 or rather the 99 vs 100 is a huge game changer mentally.

It’s been discussed a thousand times over that selling alcohol outside of Sukup wouldn’t make us money. They’ve done a ton of research and analysis on it. Pollard is stubborn but he would sell anything if he thought he could make an easy profit. It's clear he wants the South end zone to be more premium because of alcohol but they say they need the money so time for Jamie to let beer happen.

I will add that the list of major schools that don't allow stadium-wide alcohol sales is now very small and niche. Maybe 5 or 10 years ago Jamie had an argument, but that ship has sailed. At best, it's just unnecessary to be on that list. At worst, it's embarrassing.Never understood why Jami is so against beer sells for the average guy in the stands. I get he thinks it will hurt attendance in the Sokup area, but I tend to think he is wrong. People buying tickets in that area are doing it for more than the right to purchase liquor. Shorter lines at the bathroom, better food selection and everything that goes with it.
We could use the extra money, sell beer, and throw the average fan a bone by doing so.
I don't believe that it would not make money for a second. Every professional sports stadium sells beer, they have it at concerts. Half the schools in the B12 are selling beer and you mean to tell me that they are not making money doing it?It’s been discussed a thousand times over that selling alcohol outside of Sukup wouldn’t make us money. Even if that is true, why are so many other schools doing it? Somebody's gotta be making money. It’s been discussed a thousand times over that selling alcohol outside of Sukup wouldn’t make us money. They figure out what they would lose out on Sukup in terms of donations and the cost of those seats and calculate how much they would have to sell to offset that. People think selling alcohol is some huge money maker but look at what schools profit off of it. It’s not as much as you’d think. Iowa made like one mill off of it for an entire year on all sports? If that’s the case it’s very believable Johnny’s and Sukup greatly outweighs that.I don't believe that it would not make money for a second. Just do not buy it, if that is so, then why did they sell beer at the concert they had in the stadium last month? Not making money off beer sells is not the reason..
They don’t have premium sections like we do and/or do it to get people to come to the games. I have no dog in this fight but I think it’s easier to argue it would improve fan experience than just constantly talking about doing it to make money because that has been debunked.Even if that is true, why are so many other schools doing it? Somebody's gotta be making money.
I appreciate what you are saying and I hear you saying you don't have a dog in this fight, so by no means am I attacking you. I just think, in my relatively worthless opinion, the bar for amenities and perks that the Sukup could offer to make up for that is extremely low. I love JTS, but I'm not gonna pretend we have this amazing concession and bathroom experience that the Sukup can't possibly surpass without alcohol sales. They figure out what they would lose out on Sukup in terms of donations and the cost of those seats and calculate how much they would have to sell to offset that.
