Considering New Mexico has made one March Madness appearance in the last 10 years, and they haven’t been in a bowl game since 2016. I would say most definitely not and I’m not sure how anyone could justify their inclusion in the B12
Needs to be an open list so they can get ridiculed for being morons.Who voted for yes??
San Diego State would be an obvious choice. They have an excellent basketball program and the football is on the rise. The San Diego area would be a strong get for the Big 12.I don't think there are any schools left worth having unless the ACC implodes and you throw a line to the two, four, or six best you can get the Big Ten and the SEC don't want (e.g., Pitt, Louisville, etc.). I imagine something of a replay of the pilfering of the Pac-12 is going to go down out east at some point.
After that, no thanks, but even then there would be plenty ahead of New Mexico in line...
Oregon State and Washington State (feel bad for these guys but better them than us)
UConn (mostly for basketball and hope they can build their football program)
Gonzaga (as a basketball-only addition, of course)
San Diego State
Memphis
...none are great but all would be much preferred to New Mexico.
Might as well discuss pods too!!!
Very cool, a college buddy of mine worked at the scout camp a couple of simmers and it sounded amazing.I'm headed to NM next week. For Philmont, not football. Let's keep it that way.
