I haven't listened to many so maybe it's been covered: football wise has there been any word about differences in how the OL is actually looking in year 2 with Clanton? Again, not just 'they're going to be violent road graders' like last year but are there noticeable differences in fundamentals? Has the footwork changed? Is it zone blocking?

The podcasts are terrific, everyone can see needs for tweeks- inevitable to keep growing.

My request would be to understands there are a tremendous amount of unsung players since the 70’s that I have followed the Cyclones. All positions, even during the tough times, they helped build the program, and continue to follow and/or donate.

Perhaps at some home game(s), have a podcast at the lettermen’s club event. Pull in some of those folks. Not the locals, pull in the travelers.you can see the excitement at the events, pull in groups/teammates - listen to their stories. They are proud Cyclones.

I have an idea. Setup the podcasts with an option to be ad-free for $5 a month. It would take away skipping advertisements, so you would be forced to listen to ads unless you pay to opt-out. Is that better?
People are going to complain no matter what you do. Chris comes from a radio background. Ads are just part of the game. I say this as someone who hates ads.

I doubt that’s profitable for only $5. Hulu and Disney charge an extra $7-10/month for ad-free experience on top of the base plan. And Amazon charges another $3/month on top of the $14.99/month Prime subscription.

Since these podcasts are free, I think you’re looking at having to charge $15/month minimum to make up for the lost ad revenue. Probably more honestly.

It's not the sponsor reads. It's that what should be a 15 or 30-second read turns into a 2+ minute story about "my good buddy (sponsor) so and so" that usually hits a second tangent before getting reeled back in.

This is the “cloneado”.
I'll take your word for it. Thank you. I saw him wearing that. This logo is not really that controversial though, I don't think.

Good for him. He likes it, he wears it. I'm actually working on a version of this with a different head. The head on the 'clonado' is a bit too much like Bucky Cy, another secondary we should retire, IMO.

I'm just thankful he wasn't sporting the Bugle. That would have been controversial!

Edit: I get that it's dig, probably on our current secondary logos. If so, absolutely! The clonado, with all its evoutions, is better than Bugle and Bucky, combined.

I would add - this "version" of Cy-In-A-Blender (which I personally like better than "Cloneado" as a term) is the worst version of it, by far. Cy holding the "Iowa State" not only visually just looks bad, it's very hard to read from outside of 10 inches from your face, it looks terrible as a patch or embroidered-on logo (looks blurry), and overall does not fit well with any application, fabric, print, or web. I "think" we even put this as our center court logo at Hilton for a lot of years - looked stupid there too.
  • Cy-In-A-Blender - holding "ISU" = elite, fantastic, LOVE. Absolutely not too busy for the helmet (it is 3 freaking letters), and the logo they put in reverse on the opposite side of the helmet also looked good
  • Cy-In-A-Blender - holding "Cyclones" - pretty good! Light years better than "Iowa State"
  • Cy-In-A-Blender - holding "Iowa State" - terrible. Busy as hell, weird proportions, pointy, dumb.
  • Cy-In-A-Blender - Punching Cy = Really solid, good for small applications (note: Never understood the fans that liked the "updated" version after the I-State reveal where we swapped out the Navy with a darker shade of Cardinal - it just doesn't look right - If we had to get rid of the Navy, it should have been swapped to black, to match the actual Cardinal bird)
  • Cy-In-A-Blender - Cy holding nothing but centered within a circle emblem = also solid in the right application

Put me in the camp of do not change the podcast at all. I think CF does a great job of offering different podcasts for all types of sports and subjects.

Football and basketball are by far the most popular sports, I’d guess that’s what most people want to hear about. There’s not always news, I still enjoy the pods without big news and just shooting the sh!t

i subscribe to a CFB podcast (split zone duo) that does just this

they do 2-3 pods a week and 1-2 are always behind paywall and ad free

also seems the hosts are more "open" in the paywall one not having to worry so much about getting clipped, taken out of context and aggregated online

  • rank your wish list of new big 12 team road trips for football and/or basketball
  • worst Cyclone takes you ever had? (e.g. Mangino was going to fix all)
  • genie grants you 3 wishes to fix college sports. what are they?

We heard a bit of discussion on conditioning program as contributing to slow season starts. Would like to hear more of how coaches discuss that issue, assuming they think we have one.

What to watch for first few games to detect any philosophy changes from coaching changes?

Coaching changes impact on recruiting?
