And Sparty boys team get $40 million more just by sucking off the teets of OSU and UM.
But if the Big 12 wins one of their playoff games, it's gonna be great.

Don't fret. Nothing to worry about. It's gonna be awesome.

I was one that thought they should basically make the conf champ game the actual first round of the play off.

If you cant make your conf championship, and win it, then what are you doing in the Playoff. If they want to make those not matter, then why play them, Hell why play the season games. If they are just going to pick those that win the popularity contest, then none of it matters.

Are you me? Lol

But it shouldn't be decided before games are played. Each season should start with a clean slate. The 12 team playoff is new, so mix of teams shouldn't be pre-determined. Sure SEC has shown to have ultra-elite teams. But are the 2nd tier Big 10/SEC teams better than 2nd tier Big12/ACC.

The Big12 has gotten more hoops teams because of ranking services say so that season. Sure the Big12 may play games to max the NET, but is that any different than the SEC gaming football rankings by only playing 8 conference games.

I can guarantee you the Big12 will stop getting the benefit of the doubt quickly if teams don't perform in the NCAA Tournament and our non-con W/L isn't strong against other power conferences.
The word, "should", didn't convey what I meant to say. I am the biggest critic of the SEC and Big 10 when they are appointed 4-5 teams before the season. That's crap.

I meant that if 3rd or 4th place Big 10 or SEC team goes 10-2 with a loaded schedule and the 2nd place Big 12 team goes 11-1, the metrics likely favor the Big 10 or SEC team.. With better metrics, they are deserving to get in with 1 more loss.

What if the big 12 does in fact eat itself and the two best records in the league are 10-2 and 8-4. If the 10-2 team wins the CCG does everyone still think the Big 12 will deserve 2 teams in?

Define loaded schedule. Big 12 teams will play more ranked teams than the SEC. That is what is so maddening to us. The SEC always starts its season on third base. Which is totally the reason Iowa state fans have a reason to be ticked off and concerned that the relegation will continue and get to the point that the SEC starts its season at home base.

What is the better metric when a school has 1 more loss?

I can see conference power rankings if we see enough non-games between comparable Big10/SEC vs. Big12/ACC schools.

What shouldn't happen is a 9-3 Oklahoma get in over a 10-2 Baylor because OU beat the likes of 8-4 Texas & LSU whereas Baylor beat 9-3 Utah & K-State.

No but neither does an 9-3 or 8-4 b10 or SEC team. Whats your point?
That it’s dependent on the scenario. Schedule, who they lost/won against, record, ect. I don’t think an 8-4 will ever get an at large no matter the conference. I also think 9-3 is a stretch but could be dependent on the schedule.

There’s like 15 posts in a row of people already complaining about the Big 12 being left out before the season even has even started.

I *think* what @FriendlySpartan was trying to convey by “win” is if the Big 12 has multiple teams at 12-0/11-1/10-2 we won’t have to worry about getting multiple bids. We would get 2 no question. While parity in the league is fun it will absolutely kill the conferences # of bids if everyone is 9-3/8-4.

Get back to me during basketball season when you are arguing ISU should have a higher seed versus another conference team with less losses due to us navigating the Big 12 gauntlet.

What should be the case is Big12 and ACC have just as much ability to get 4 CFP teams as the Big 10 or SEC.

Let what happens on the field matter 100%. Let's debate resumes, not the names on the front of the jerseys.

To say the Big12 should be ecstatic because we have the limited possibility of 2 teams in a 12 team playoff is tokenism. And insulting to ACC & Big12 fans.

But your missing the point. If that happens it's because of our NET based on game performance.

The Big 10 & SEC are trying to rig the CFP by saying they deserve 4 teams without a game being played.

So can the Big12 argue/demand 13 NCAA Tournament bids in September?

What happens on the field/court should matter.

Because if you win a playoff game it would be awesome? Same for winning the Big12.
Do you favor going back to pre 1984 as far as how TV revenue was distributed? Because right now Michigan state gets $40 million more per year than Iowa state for having the same number of playoff wins.
