UND is listed as a top 25 FCS team, so not going to be a cake walk but I do expect at least a 2 score win. So much up in the air with a new OC on the first game for feeling things out, so hard to predict anything.

I refuse to wring my hands over a 20-25 ranked FCS team. The gap between UND and ISU is huge.

Areas interesting to me
  • OR next to Hufford’s name. Got to be injury-related given he has the longest active start streak in the team
  • Jalen Travis didn’t win the start LT job. Seems like he was a big fish catch for We Will. Maybe injuries there?
  • LG - could be an adventure?
  • Purchase not a starter at corner. I know he had some issues last year, and Porter is also a senior, but Purchase is a three-year starter entering his senior season?
  • Hopefully Jontez Williams is the real deal, because there is a big drop-off in CB depth it looks like

It's a waste of time trying to interpret a Campbell depth chart...

As much as many want Matt to open it up, we’ve seen this movie way too many times. I’m not worried about this being a close game but we are going to see a lot of vanilla. We know how this works. It’s week one.

They're only picked 5th in the Valley. That poll (I think) is the coaches, SIDs, and Valley-specific media members. i.e. people that should know.

I would love to see a ULM type game circa 2019. Lets take the lid off early, and keep it off. Let Mouse and Rocco loose
CMC won't show Ferentz anything he hasn't already seen from ISU. Any new of different formations will have to wait to be used against the Squawks next week.

our returning production. playing a lowly FCS team.
You're discounting the coaching staff going vanilla for this game. We could win it by 30+ points if they used the whole playbook...they won't do that. 24-7 at the minimum in my opinion. ND is not an incompetent team.

Anyone with inside info... how bad are the OL injuries? Just holding them out against ND because we think we can win it without them, but if this week was the Iowa game they would be playing.... OR.... they are injured pretty badly and are expected out a while?

The coaches will throw the kitchen sink out there and put a beat down of epic proportions. Fan's heads will be swimming with thoughts of a B12 title after the 17 point blow out.

Had me in the first half, ngl.

The 2021 team had a huge pile of cards. Go back and look at that UNI game.

Not sure why anyone would expect anything looking like urgency or killer instinct from this squad in the non-conference.
No slow roll! Give 'em both barrels all game. Let Iowa see everything and try to stop it in week 2.

I'm ready for the game day thread to start tonight!!!
Not sure what go into me! Addendum: North Dakota gets one barrel of rock salt in the first half. We eek out a 10 point win in the 4th qtr.

And... here we go!! Let the 35+ pt win predictions fly folks... and when we win by like 10 or 14 pts... we'll hear everyone say.... "no biggie... a W is a W... we always start slow".

I'm going to say 27-10 ISU. It will never be in doubt... but we'll come away thinking we definitely have some things to work on before the Iowa game.
If we don't win by 50 our season will suck. Everyone needs to be fired.

I think a win is a win actually.

I guess some people aren’t concerned if we’re missing a few of our best OL for the Iowa game? Interesting.

If they're still missing in October that's bad.

If the depth is there like some are presuming, then it shouldn't be that big of a problem this early in the season.
