The existence of CF negates the need/market for an all ISU IE show. It's just redundant.

There's nothing in the Iowa podcastverse on par with what CF is doing.

i'm going to host a show where we read the gameday thread and post game thread. we will take callers as well. the drunker the better

I have never listened to IE but I will probably switch soon. Also never listend to a podcast. Do I need an app?

Both sites have the ability to just listen to a stream or watch on youtube

I enjoy watching 2 Guys just because I like the banter between CW and Hassel, and I get maybe 30-40% ISU talk. I still need to listen to the new Big 12 talk show, but wish it was just ISU talk.

Other than that, nothing on IE that exists or is being added does anything for me. I’ll stick to Cyclone Fanatic podcasts where I can get ISU talk and not all the Hawkeye loving from all the IE shows.

Get Jared Stanz back and give him an all ISU show on IE…. now that would be some must watch content for me.
You get 30-40% ISU talk because Iowa State has been out of the news this offseason, which is not a bad thing at all. Williams has admitted that.

eh, that's probably not accurate. If you're just talking about podcasts, Pat Hardy has a podcast lineup that would be comparable.

More accurately, Williams likely has a non compete and even if he didn't, it wouldn't reflect well on his leadership of CF to have programming directly competing with CF. So as long as Williams has his job with CF, IE will not have a full compliment of ISU related content.

I feel like some of the sharper folks in the Hawk mediaverse are already on IE. Most of the Iowa pods I've come across are just blathering homer crap, like Condon's Locked On.

If you haven't downloaded the TuneIn Radio app for the Big 12 radio, I'd recommend it. it's actually WAY more professional and informative than I expected this soon in it's existence.

Doc also has a podcast with Rob Howe on the Pat Hardy network (the network might actually be called HawkFanatic, idk) It's actually the only podcast I listen to on the network.

Doc is bit of a podcast ***** considering he also does podcasts with the Athletic for his day job lol (though I suppose comparing to Williams who might do a podcast every day he's a light weight.)

Sadly Marty is the most talented sports radio guy to ever pass through Des Moines. Obviously a scum bag, but the dude just had “it” on the radio.

Talent of having the gift of gab maybe... All he did was find a hot topic that he could take a stance on that would piss people off then push buttons of callers when they called in. It definitely worked to get callers I guess but the substance wasn't anything substantial really. I guess if you call that talent then it fits the description. The 3 big stains that I remember on his time at KXNO were the famous "my dentist has the inside scoop on the next ISU FB coach" when he was pretty much saying we were hiring Jay Norvell and he was completely wrong on that one, the time he was cussing at Larry Cotlar on a hot mike that got both of them fired, and the guy he took to the masters that he screwed over that he and the guy had it out on the air about that.

I don't miss the guy, he was basically a shock jock wanna be. Miller IMO brought a lot more to sports talk in DM than Marty did. Marty is right up there with Perrault and Travis as far as annoying personalities and guys that just don't have a filter. Travis is harmless and seems like a good human being at least, Perrault was just a self centered ass, and Marty of course was just a scumbag altogether as he screwed over many people here both personally and professionally.

Pat Harty runs a website called Hawk Fanatic. He is on KCJJ radio in Iowa City 3 times a week. He's a Hawk fan of course but he does seem to be very fair or critical when the situation calls for it when discussing things on that show.

For as much of a homer Trent is he does do his homework on ISU.
This is what made CW so great to listen to when he and Ross were together. Chris would go out of his way to watch other games besides ISU and be able to bring some content to the show Monday afternoon to talk about even though ISU was his main passion he at least could intelligently talk about Iowa and other teams too because he took the time to watch the games. Ross tried to feign it a little with ISU and other teams but it was obvious some weeks he didn't watch the game or he flat out admitted he didn't.

I find Trent annoying, especially his whiney voice but will give him credit that he does show he has some knowledge outside of Iowa sports as well to add something to the conversation. That is what annoys me with Heather and Sean, neither seem to pay much attention to anything at times and for Heather being the big Cyclone fan she claims to be she always seems to be behind with news sometimes too. At times she will mention something for the 1st time that was already a couple days old and talked about on other shows even too. Travis and Ross are very heavy with Hawkeye content and Travis non-Hawk content that he sometimes gets in depth with is more Nebraska and Kansas than ISU some days. I don't necessarily want a Cyclone homer on KXNO that only talks Cyclones and nothing else but the current lineup of hosts need to do a little better job with the diversity of their content on a given day. I used to not care much for Miller and that probably had something to do with his years of radio with Marty who I absolutely loathed but lately Ken is probably my favorite guy at KXNO now more because the rest of the hosts there are just so bad now.
