I played OLine. Watching us in the Campbell era, it looks more to me like a scheme issue than a talent issue. It looks very much like we have all these odd rules on who to block instead of, block the first guy or block the next guy down. It seems we have a lot of guys who are just confused where to go as opposed to not being able to block.
Not necessarily the blocking schemes, but they just showed Sama studying his wristband for what seemed like 5 minutes after the play call came in.

Things really shouldn’t be so complicated that it takes you that long to figure out the play/responsibility.

Not defending it. Just saying that a lot has changed from a technique standpoint and scheme rules with RPOs, read option, shotgun etc. I think most people who played would be shocked. A lot of it is really about positioning, angles, holding, and trying to physically get in people's way. As opposed to squaring up, getting low, and just trying dominate and bury your man like in the old days. It's a lot different.

Again, not defending it or saying it's better. It's just a thing now in modern football.
