Also bothered me that we were perfectly happy to win 21-3 and not try to score on our second to last possession with 4 mins left in the 4th qtr.

We just ran the ball, burned the clock and called it good. Why would we just stop at 21-3? Why not keep throwing it and keep playing?
What difference would it make? Campbell sees 3rd stringers and walk-on playing a lot of snaps. I’m guessing he wanted to get out of there with no more injuries.

We give up 3 points and half the fanbase is on suicide watch
It’s not a meltdown, but half of us are being realistic about today’s performance. Our D was weak and we have no run game. There’s no denying that today.

Sure, maybe we improve like we did last year after we fell apart at Ohio, BUT, this team didn’t look too hot today and certainly didn’t look like a team that could win at Iowa next week.

You can’t seriously say the D was weak when they gave up 3 points. Idk about you, but I’ve seen isu teams give up much more than 3 and still go on to have a good year. I think some of us need to relax a bit.

Yeah, they shouldn’t have bent as much as they did, but football is about scoring more points than the other team and we’ll be alright if we allow 3

That’s it for me personally. I’m not sure why I should watch the CyHawk game even. They constantly lose to Iowa doing the dumbest things imaginable

The o-line got no push. The d-line got pushed back-- quite a lot. The LB were nowhere near good enough to make up for the d-line.

The defense needs to take 2 steps forward real fast, or its gonna be a rough year.

Offense will be explosive but inconsistent if the o-line doesnt get better.

I think theyll be fine but Dallas seems off the table.
Same poop every year. Guaranteed not many will go to a ****** bowl game this season. We have the athletes at wr, a stud rb, an qb to operate. O line is what is normal for us. Defense probably will come around, if not look out. Tiresome to say the least.

Just hope CMC’s gameplan against TOE is to throw on first down.
Yeah, we will throw those quick long passes to an outside receiver and Iowa will jump the pass for a pick 6. So predictable. Every year, we just play right into their hand. We threw that pass 10 times today. Need to abandon it for next week. Iowa will be expecting it.

I don't think our D-line was getting blown up that badly. it's a little hard to tell watching in the stadium, but it just seemed to me like our linebackers were completely lost in the run game. if we are running a 3-man front, it's their job to just try and eat some blocks and the LBs have to fill the gaps. the LBs did not fill the gaps consistently today.

Our LB core was already the weakness coming into the season (either that or the OL/run game) and now the injuries have made that position group even weaker still.

Pass blocking was good, QB/WR/passing game was good. Secondary was solid/DL was okay, but man...CFB gets REALLY difficult if you cannot run the ball and even moreso if you can't stop the run.

Yes, it was 3 on paper, but it should’ve been a lot more. We had a missed FG, and several drives that stalled out and one interception fairly deep in our territory.

Our D did a good job of keeping them out of the end zone, but their lack of scoring was more their lack of execution than us stopping them consistently.

Our D must improve quite a bit by next week if we are to have any chance in Iowa City.

So...ISU made the needed plays and they didn't.

That's usually how it goes for the better team.

Iowa State will not be able to run the ball against Iowa at all if they can't even do it against an FCS opponent. That is the frustration with that game. This team isn't dog doo doo or anything like that, but hard to get excited by that performance.
Sama had 5 attempts, and averaged over 7 yrds. He didnt run much while in, then was sidelined early.

We ran fine, for the most part, when we were actually trying to move down field and not just run clock.

We just didnt run much.

Well it could be worse, we could be Texas Tech (needed overtime to beat Abilene Christian 52-51).
