Our issue was the backers. The Dline are eating blockers, either they need to do that or blow the play up. In the past we’ve had backers scrape off and make the tackle. The last couple years our backers get caught in traffic and then have to chase down the carrier.Ebel looked decent but he has a tendency to over-pursue and take himself out of the play. He did that way too often yesterday.
Who? I would assume you mean Bacon but there are a lot of other player injuries being discussed in this thread. He’s done

That seems like a first time starting problem, how much did he play last year, not much if I recall.Ebel looked decent but he has a tendency to over-pursue and take himself out of the play. He did that way too often yesterday.
Which is weird because I saw a comment from one of our fans that they were "sick of watching at a time".I said better UP FRONT. Iowa's skill players are hot garbage, but if they can run 3 yards and a cloud of dust, we'll never get off the field.
McLaughlin didn’t dress. We were basically starting our 3rd stringer (Ellis) there with he and Brezina out.
We really need standardized weekly injury reports. I know some conferences will start doing it for conference play but it’s needs to be across the board. It’s ridiculous a coach can hold a press conference days before a game and say they are healthy and then not have 2 OL and 2 LB even suit up.l becasue they are injured.
The millions of dollars being gambled on the sport says otherwise. No we don't. Quite frankly it's no ones business but the coaches and players.

I hate the bearer of bad news but it’s coming. It’ll still be available, probable, questionable, like the NFL does. So there still is some ambiguity and some gamesmanship. SEC and Big 10 are already doing it this year so you know it’ll come to us next.
Saw Mclaughlin on the sidelines. He could barely walk around. Was the last guy to walk off the field at halftime. Didn't look good.I thought I heard McLaughlin needed back surgery
It’s called gambling. I don’t care what they think. A team should be able to say these are our players, you will find out come game time who plays. You want to gamble, feel free. The millions of dollars being gambled on the sport says otherwise.

Why should the coaches have to cater to the idiots who want to bet on games?
When you have media companies control the sport and those media companies have partnerships and/or their own gambling sites that brings in millions for them then it’s not really up to the coaches or what we think. It’s called gambling. I agree here. The LB play will get better, just not sure it will improve quickly enough for this season to be a success. LB play wasn’t good, but lots of inexperience playing in game one.Our issue was the backers. The Dline are eating blockers, either they need to do that or blow the play up. So how much is ISU losing in media money by not disclosing everything? When you have media companies control the sport and those media companies have partnerships and/or their own gambling sites that brings in millions for them then it’s not really up to the coaches or what we think.
They are not loosing anything, but in time it will change at the top and trickle down. This is a multi billion dollar sport that the media controls. So how much is ISU losing in media money by not disclosing everything?
Currently none because it’s not a Big 12 rule. SEC will start doing it for conference games this year and schools will be fined between $25,000-100,000 depending on the infraction. So how much is ISU losing in media money by not disclosing everything?
