This is a CMC phenomena. ISU had really good special teams for the CPR and CDM eras.
It was good last year. I'd argue special teams were good the first few Campbell years, then for some reason were ******* for like 3 years.

Things did seem to improve last year when they brought a coordinator on. Having a stud kicker like Contreras helped.

Though a couple of those punts yesterday gave me flashbacks to the blocks in the 22 Iowa game. Fortunately Perkins has more experience now.

To be fair people were disagreeing with your initial point that we need mandatory, standard injury reporting, then you shifted the argument to it being inevitable due to gambling. These are two very different things. I think it’s stupid to require it but also think it’s inevitable because of gambling.
That’s a very fair response. I may have come across as supporting it due to gambling which wasn’t my intention. I think it would be a fine rule that wouldnt change much in the landscape of things regardless of the reasoning behind it. There are way bigger fish to fry in college athletics haha.

While I think the sport as whole could benefit from a little more transparency I don’t personally need it or require it. What got me frustrated was the many responses as if it would be unheard of and could never happen legally when it’s already being implemented by multiple leagues but those posters don’t seem to grasp that.

I do find it ironic that people are clamoring for new info on Caleb and with how CMC handles these things he could be out till next year but we could never know. These same people don’t want mandated weekly injury reports. *shrugs*

Special teams was weird during CMCs first several years. Dont’t you remember all the fair catches? We completely abandoned kick and punt returns as some sort of risk aversion tactic.

It is what I’ve heard a couple different places. Like I said though, a rumor since I’ve heard it from random people. I will work my source to see what I can find out for sure.
The way injuries for Iowa State get reported absolutely suck. You combine a coach who keeps everything secret with insiders “in the know” that live across the road from an assistant head coach that leave vague pieces of information that could mean a million different things.
