One of the good things about having Lance Leipold (despite loss to Illinois) and Chris Klieman in the conference is that there are other "hot" coaches besides CMC. Doubt one Iowa game changes that.

I would think being a HC for 9 years at a P4 conference would be enough to squash any of these talks about him leaving for greener pastures. I guess not

This could change when Jamie decides to retire, though. But until then, I just can’t see him leaving, even for ND

It's hard to know how serious he has been about any of the jobs over the years. I'm convinced there are a lot of them he never considered and turned down before thinking about it. I'm sure there are more than I'd like to believe that either he seriously considered and then turned down or really wanted and didn't get.

And of course Marcus Freeman produced an atrocious loss the same day.

Still not worried after 9 years.
I hate ND but I have been pulling bigtime for Freeman to have success and prove all the old white guys that fought against his hiring wrong. They're not building stability with their positional players, they're using the rent a player approach for QBs and it's working about as well for them as it has for Iowa.

Michigan and ND could both open up this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Campbell as a serious candidate for either of those.
Michigan is not opening up this year or the next few (barring any crazy Mel Tucker like activities).

Even they will give Moore a few years. Especially if any sanctions come down.

For beating Iowa? That’s hilarious
Tbf the article is saying this under the idea CMC wins 9 or more games. They just say the Iowa game could give us momentum to even go 8-0 until Kansas.

"He probably stayed a year too long, but if he won eight or nine games this year, hell yeah he'd be a hot commodity again," one industry source told CBS Sports. "He can't go 6-6 or 7-5. That doesn't really move the needle. If he wins nine games, he's right back on everybody's radar."

With the 12 team playoff I think these Big12 coaching jobs got way more attractive. I like our shot at making the playoffs as opposed to being in the SEC this year. Campbell's got a good thing going on in Ames. Doing what Snyder did at Kstate isn't a bad thing, and I think Campbell's in that same mind set so I don't see him leaving. Why? Pressure? His family is important to him and he likes raising them in Ames. Move his kids away from friends? I don't see it happening.

Yep. I feel like the only big reason for him to move on is that sometimes it's just time to move on. Otherwise the cost/benefit doesn't seem to make much sense. Yah never know though.
