Just heard Grant and Jeff suggest that Campbell might be mad with Aiden Flora. Why?

IMHO, if Campbell didn’t want to run up the score, he shouldn’t call a play that is designed for advancing the ball.

Further, if he expected a walk on to fall down and not try to score a touchdown, that’s abusive!

He was clearly pissed they scored again and looked like he apologized in their post-game coach handshake. My guess is his anger is at Mouse, if anyone.

It isn't like they scored on a double reverse, receiver throw back to the half back type of play.

I remember Jim Walden being angry at Fry when Iowa scored on some kind of trick pass play with 30 seconds left in the game and Iowa up 50-something to 10 or something like that.

That was a bush league play by Fry.

Flora's run was just a simple run play and he made a good move to score. You can't tell a kid not to score.

I doubt anyone was angry at that.

Campbell should have taken a knee if he was that upset of Flora scoring.

Also, it wasn't like he still had the starters in.

Josh Huepel having Tennessee do an onside kick against Kent State was bush leauge.

Ya this is likely over blown. It's not like Ark State is in conference. Third teamers scoring aren't going to piss anyone off.

He was literally the 5th running back to play.

1c Jackson
2 Dylan Lee
3 Aiden Flora

I guess you could call him 3rd string, but that's kinda generous yeah?

I always thought it sucked for both teams when there is like 3-4 mins left and all the scrubs get in to actually play and both sides watch 2 runs up the middle and a couple knees and a hand shake.
love watching guys that may never play again geta chance.

Its not like we did some trick play or play action fake for a 40 yard touchdown.
I am sure its all good.

Fry did something similar in 1997 game. He then told Mac that the quarterback audibled to it or some chicken-sh** excuse. Mac took the high ground on it but he knew that Fry was full of sh**.

Point still stands. I consider the first three RB first team because they will all see snaps during relevant game time.

My only cringe was knowing we have to play Arkansas State again next year, and that they use it as bulletin board material. Not sure it would make a difference, but better to just play it cool. If I was Campbell, I would of kneeled.

For over 110 years we have had the score run up on us by Nebraska, Oklahoma, and all of these teams. We do it once and have to issue apologies, put the walk on in the dog house. It's unreal. If you don't want our 4th or 5th team guy scoring on you, stop it. Don't let him score. That is what Walden and Cryner used to say. We need to stop it. Hope they are just joking around. This could be the kids only Touchdown in college and can always tell his kids and grand kids that he scored a touchdown playing for his favorite team.
