with a couple of exceptions, they’ve taken a Texas school every year for the last 10. When they could get LSU (brand and proximity) and KSU (travels well), they were comfortable not selecting a Texas school. It may change now with the most recent conferencemrealignment.

No way in hell the Big 12 gets 4 teams in the playoff....2 at the absolute most and that could even be a stretch (this committee will be adamant about it being mostly B1G and SEC schools in the playoff)
I think the only way the Big 12 gets 2 bids is if somehow both teams are undefeated heading into Arlington or maybe a 1 loss team defeats the undefeated team

CBS Sports latest, ISU remains in CFP. Palm still hasn't bothered to update the opening-round game sites (3 of the 4 are incorrect). It's probably the only major project he does each week, shouldn't be that difficult to ensure accuracy.

I’ve stayed out of the game threads during the games this year. But I’m not always so strong.
I’ve just learned that the losses are not easier if I’ve downplayed the season. If I go into the Baylor game thinking we are going to lose, I’m going to be just as disappointed if we do actually lose.
So I’m going to try to have fun with this playoff stuff until it’s not possible. And hopefully remind myself that dozens of teams will not make the playoffs.

That being the case and given ISU's football history. And given things like RB not running to middle of the field to set up a game winning field goal to win the big 12 north, creates this anxiety.
2021 was supposed the year and it imploded. So I can understand why people expect the worst.

I guess I'm just now realizing how incredibly difficult its going to be for a Big 12 team to ever host a playoff game. Essentially, you'd have be ranked somewhere between 3-8 and have just lost the Big 12 title game.
It's going to be almost impossible for us, in particular. Take the projection from last week that had us hosting a playoff game against Miami, for example. Until I see it play out that way, you'll never convince me the committee won't tweak it ever so slightly to have that game played in an NFL stadium in warm and sunny Miami instead of cold, ice covered (and frankly, unequipped for it) Ames, Iowa.
You’re probably right, but a team like Miami playing in an “Ice Bowl” would be ratings gold.
