Help me compile a list of essential items you always make sure you have backups of in your house. Mine currently are: Toilet paper, toothpaste, and deodorant. (This post may be related to a recent marital discussion) The wife recent chastised me for asking her to pick up deodorant for me immediately upon opeing my back up. She also can't understand why I would want multiple back up deodorants in the storage closet.

I've used maybe a 1/2 stick if deodorant since work from home started. So that's out.

Battery backups for a heat or light source
Food and water.

The rest are just nice to haves

Most were already listed: toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, deodorant, TP, shampoo, soap, conditioner, lotion, tampons, pads, hair gel, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, paper towels - pretty much anything to get someone or something clean

We also keep extra light bulbs and batteries handy, as well as candles and wood for the fireplace

We don't keep any specific food/drink-related items on hand, but we always have bottled water, rice and noodles around.

The only time we run out of milk is if we plan on being out before going on a trip.

Also, I have an extra propane tank and have plenty of liquor. If power goes out, I can cook something and either drink to stay warm or drink to forget how cold it is.

I have to have backup batteries for the smoke detectors. If one starts chirping it drives me insane.

I always have Jimmy’s BBQ sauce on hand. Had a 1/4 bottle left on Monday and the wife had go to Boone for a meeting. I look on the counter later that day and there are three bottles of sauce!;)
