Sure... I'm terrified of what could happen to this country... but that movie was horrible.

Garland is an all or nothing guy. I love his stuff but know some people hate it.

Enjoyed the premiere episode of the first new "Matlock". Kathy Bates hasn't been this watchable since she broke James Caan's ankles with a sledgehammer.

A few episodes into Zack Snyder's Twilight of the Gods on Netflix. Adult animation about Viking gods. And lots of blood, violence and nudity. Not kids cartoon stuff here! The graphics stylings are pretty awesome. Reminds me a little of Samurai Jack as to graphics style but with more blood.

Also alternating that with Vox Machina new season. It's okay in spite of me being continually annoyed with some of the characters. I mean does every single character have to be in internal conflict with their "feelings" in every single episode? Jeez, just kill off Scanlan already and give me more of Grog!

Leave Scanlon alone!

I guess we finished this season of Slow Horses on Apple+ and was pretty pissed off. 6 episodes. That's it for this season... 6. Just enough to get invested and then... nothing. F***ers.

Also watching the latest season of Only Murders in the Building. Not bad.
And Agatha All Along, on Disney+, which is the spinoff from WandaVision.
And Penguin on MAX, which has been solid!

SH season 4 seems like it was a setup for future seasons with developing a major villain character. But they did film season 5 already so maybe that won’t be too far away?

Twilight of the Gods started out with some promise but sort of augered in and became a big hot mess. The graphics were engaging, the writing and plot not so much.

I will say that is what I hate these days with the streaming services. A season now is 8 episodes if you are lucky. And its like 3 years between seasons.

For some reason we could do 20+ episodes and only have a few months in between the start and end of seasons for decades on over the air networks, now streamers with all the money cant manage even half that and need multiple years to put even that out.

By the time a new "season" comes out I have completely forgotten what was going on. It has resulted in me losing interest in several shows, and just never going back to them.

Noticed that "Civil War" was on Max the other day, so finally got around to watching it.

What a horrible movie. I can't figure out how anyone liked that piece of garbage.
Same. I felt like the “bones” of a good movie were there but there was little explanation as to why the world was like it was. Felt rushed and provided zero context. Maybe I missed something but I was underwhelmed.

I’ll echo was others have said. Through 3 episodes The Penguin has been fantastic. Not what I was expecting but have throughly enjoyed the first 3 episodes.

When a new season starts, especially after the COVID and strike delays, I've often had to go back and watch the last episode of the previous season to refresh myself as to whether the story left off.

It was basically action violence and porn.

I don’t know that is a streaming thing as much as this is the more common practice with British series. Luther had a similar thing where the number of episodes seemed to be based on what it took to tell the story rather than adjusting the story to fit in a specified nimber of episodes.

As far as Slow Horses specifically, I’ll need to read the books to know if they cut a lot out of the season or if the book the season was based on was shorter.
