Need some of the old big 12 teams to get wins against them. They are 1-0 against the old big 12 (okie state is not good) and they have TCU, Houston and byu next. Could see them with 2 loses and 4-0 against the old big 12. That wouldn’t be ideal.
It will be many years before I consider BYU or Houston part of the old Big 12.

It would be really nice if they lost another game or two and we could into SLC with 0 or 1 losses to make that game not mean quite as much. Whether they're rated or not, that place is a hornets nest. On paper, thats arguably the toughest game on our schedule, it would be nice if they were down far enough that a head to head against them won't matter.
Could be. I'm starting to wonder if KSU at home is the toughest though.

At 4-2 and 1-2 in the conference, I'd seriously consider Rising for medical redshirt if I was the GM of Utah... Whittingham can have his swan song next season (already named his coach in waiting) and they can give it another run at the title

Not exactly sure.

I don’t think you can get a second one.

Utah has to be probably the most ungrateful fan base in the nation.

Especially for a team that was G5 a little over a decade ago. We should have let them go back. I'm not stupid, if the SEC or Big were to invite any team in the Big 12, they'd go and I wouldn't blame them, but I don't like having a team and fanbase that is so vocal about it and constantly slamming the Big 12. While you are here, you should be working to build up and promote the conference, not constantly knock it down.

I know that Wazzu and Or. St. didn't move the needle, I know why we didn't invite them and agree with it from a money standpoint. But, from purely a fan perspective, I'd so much had rather had one or both of them than Utah. They have an over-inflated ego because for the most part, the PAC 12 was ass since they were invited. No one in that conference was a serious national contender. They basically were playing in a slightly better version of the Big 10 West.

Utah and Iowa are definitely similar. Never won anything but they think they are among the CFB elite
Utah won the Pac 12 conference in 2021 and 2022 which now that those teams are playing in other conferences looks a little more impressive than we all thought at the time.

The last time Iowa won a conference title is when the Bix 10 was crowing an average of 3.7 "Champions" per year.
