Janny and our daughter were on the concourse sometime after halftime, and saw two different groups of people get arrested. And they weren't up there for all that long. There was definitely a non-zero amount of jack asses.

A little off topic. Did anyone catch that we played Hollywood (K)Nights after they scored a touchdown. That was kind of clever.

I won’t tolerate any slander of The Killers (well, ok, maybe a little), but how on earth does a 20 year old song like that suddenly take hold? It seems about as unlikely as a Juicy Wiggle renaissance.
You kidding me right? That song has been a banger for years. Every wedding you go to plays that song. It's the white people anthem.

Are we turning into Hok fans?
Well…I actually have a theory on that. I believe that as we become more successful and they become less so, we’re going to “gain” some of their “best” and “brightest”…

Do they sell water bottles in the stadium or let the students carry them in? They could remove caps at time of purchase if selling them

When I was there the last thing on my mind was stay hydrated. Don't remember drinking anything during the game or anyone having bottles in the stands. Get old and I carry stainless steel water bottle everywhere now.

You can bring in one, pretty sure you can buy them inside, too.

Not to mention that many colleges and pro sports team play it. Hell, doesn't Michigan have a "tradition" of the entire 100,000k crowd singing along to Mr. Brightside? (And yeah, it makes NO sense but f*ck it, great jam!)

Anytime we do something or play a song or 'think' we have started some unique tradition or gameday thing - step back and realize it's more likely we're like the 50th school or team to do it or try it.

I am only one witness, but I have seen no issues except for the projectiles following Rocco game winning TD.
Wasn’t there for UCF game, but was in section 28 for ASU and Baylor. Saw full bottles of water being thrown from upper deck in both games. Empty Fireball shooters harmless fun but the full water bottles being thrown is dumb.

Mr Brightside: Over 400 weeks running on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, making it the longest-charting single in the UK's history, according to Google.

It seems like it only made an appearance at Jack Trice after a nationally televised Michigan game this fall, which kind of makes us copycats, but whatever.

Something I love about Iowa (and Sheboygan, WI I've discovered) is that 20-30 year old music just stays in the rotation.

I am ok with the letter from Pollard. He identified what was either a problem on Saturday or a potential risk in the future. He addressed it by asking us as fans to do better. There are much more draconian measures that could have been taken, or still may be taken, but he is simply asking people for voluntary compliance.

It was happening all game. The refs complained to grounds crew multiple times about **** winding up around the south endzone. Cops showed up en masse after halftime watching for people throwing stuff.

That last drive the students lost their damn minds. Rocco's TD bottles started coming down from the second deck and after the 2pt Conversion and throughout Mr Brightside it was an absolute blitz of stuff coming down. People were getting hit just walking up the steps between 28 and 29.

I was waiting for a 15 yard penalty on the crowd. I thought "this is going to be the most ISU way of losing ever."

Yeah who cares? We're not allowed to play a song because another team in a different conference also plays it? Just play songs that people like.
