You aren’t listening to what I am saying. Yes the deep ball was always there against the guys you spoke about. They were able to not allow that tonight, but that’s only part of the field. The underneath stuff was there all night long and Iowa State refused to go after it or when they did they dropped the pass or had a linemen downfield. It was uncharacteristic stuff from us. Again, congrats but where were you before the game. Despise fans that show up only after the fact.If you've watched all of Tech's games then you would admit that the majority of Tech's explosive plays given up were given up by the backup CB Macho Stevenson, who didn't see the field today because Horn and Lux were finally both available and opponents couldn't just pick on the backup.
Everyone kind of just laughs it off and claims Tech sucks, but never looks into it and realizes that they're missing 3 starters on the DL, and injuries all throughout the secondary most of the season. They're not the worst unit in the conference when healthy. Yes, I realize ISU is banged up at LB and injuries are part of the game, but when the starters come back healthy, it's worth pointing out the stats may not necessarily equal the team you're seeing the field when factoring in injuries.
Other teams get a chance to play well, Tech's offense didn't struggle because they beat themselves with poor scheme, they struggled because ISU played exceptional defense.
Yep Rocco is missing a lot of wide open guys. Granted he’s being pressured but we need to get him moving on rollouts or bootlegs. He’s a great athlete let the kid work his magic.I’ve watched all of Tech’s games my friend. Yes they were much better but they were only “good” because our offensive scheme tonight never took what your defense gave us. The short middle was wide open all night long. Congrats on the win, but we beat ourselves. That’s part of the game though.
Opponents know that when Sama comes in it’s outside zone run. When Hansen is in it’s usually power. There is no counter action, same thing I’ve said for years. Mike LB just runs to the ball with OL able to block them. They need to decide who’s the #1 back and teach them the schemes. “Slow to the hole” on outside zone. “Press the LOS” on inside zone. “Attack the hole” on power. It’s obvious it’s the play calling. We have good backs, good recievers, good quarterback. That 3rd and ten where Rocco just took off running should get a coach fired. So many questionable play calls today. Can’t we go find a coordinator? I mean we are a power 5 team.
3 time Big 12 C.O.Y. in 8 years, and we get our first loss this year in November, and some of you think the staff has been letting us down for years?
I feel you. Those penalties at RPO- run pass option. The center is blocking for run and expecting the pass decision to be made quickly. As an old OL coach, the center should be coached to wait till the defender attacks you on those plays instead of attacking the defender. That’s the problem. What is wrong with the center? Didn't know snap count resulting in entire team called for motion, 2 ineligible down field penalties and snapped ball high over Rocco's head multiple times, throwing timing of handoffs off and screwing up runs and run blocking.

Right ! A few times early in game I wondered if TT had our playbook !Opponents know that when Sama comes in it’s outside zone run. When Hansen is in it’s usually power. ISU lost the game today, Tech did not win it. Coaches didn’t have the team ready to play.
Agreed. We've played over 100 players this year. Our entire lives, we would have ******* loved being 7-1 in November.
Today was disappointing. Too many mistakes and for the first time this season the coaches weren't great. The linebacker issue came back to bite us a bit.
We've still got things to play for and we are better off than 90% of football programs.
Agreed. We've played over 100 players this year.
To me the staff has done a decent job. Today wasn't a good day.
But for some to think it's years, I have no idea who you're expecting as replacements if that's the case.
That was almost two month ago. Teams get better/worse.BYU made them look really pedestrian.
SMU has had a great offense the entire year pretty much. BYU is freaking good, especially on defense. They made SMU’s offense look really bad, which they aren’t.That was almost two month ago. Teams get better/worse.
I think he has been pretty average. But he looks better than he actually is because our past OCs have been a lot worse. You guys are out of your ******* minds. Mouser sucked today but he’s been really good prior to that. Rookie growing pains.
They ran it into 8 in the box a bunch of times. Was so frustrating. The OL might not be great but when there are 4-5 across line and 3-4 linebackers for 8 close you can't block that easilyTech gives up 30 a game, and we made them look all world today. Their secondary can’t cover anyone, but I don’t think we even tried to attack them downfield once today. Instead we lined up Klotz and Moore and tried to run right at the 7 guys they put in the box. Not to mention it’s game 8 and we’re still rotating running backs as if Hansen clearly isn’t the best guy on the field. Today was a complete and utter failure by the entire coaching staff.
