Sat next to an older couple on Saturday night that seemed to indicate they had not been to a game in a long time. Wondered if a song pregame was Juicy Wiggle, was surprised there wasn't commentators like there is on TV.

Also kudos to the stadium rent a cop for clearing everyone away from the wall that was sheltering from the rain saying it was his job and he doesn't care about the rest of the stadium that is someone else's job....only for it to get filled back in within a minute or two after he made everyone leave.

There was a thread where an older couple said they were coming for the first time in a long time for the game. Maybe them?

Another installment in the continuing saga of “really?” I saw a young man probably 6th grade or so at today’s wbb game wearing an Iowa t shirt. He did have a poster in hand, so there’s that.
I looked but didn't spot any. I was really happy until I saw this. :(

There were a few of them, but everyone seemed to be having fun.

We appreciate it when they do that because those people choke an already narrow passage. When we had all the people with overheating issues in our area, the responders had trouble reaching them, and getting their equipment through the clumps of people. There are signs everywhere telling folks they cant stand there but people will people. Grrrrrr...

We just got back from voting, and I'm not very happy about it. It seems the counting machine at our polling site is not reading some of the ballots. The poll worker told me that the auditor's office knows about it, and is working to fix the problem. So our ballots went in the "provisional ballot" slot in the back. Here's the disquieting part - she told me it seems to be happening to the rural people, those of us living outside city limits. Really??? We go on election day specifically so that we can SEE our vote go in the machine. Yeah, I know you can see that when you vote early at your county auditor's office or other satellite polling places, but we're old-fashioned and there's just something about actually voting ON election day that matters to us.

Up until two elections ago, we voted at a machine shed east of town. EVERYONE who voted there was outside city limits. I miss those days.

Not exactly sure.
Talking with women who grew up around livestock and still in Ag can be interesting. Sometimes their talk can almost make me feel like I’m drinking with another group of guys.

I voted and was told my wife was there a little before me and the printer wouldn’t print for either of us. Was told my wife had to wait five minutes for confirmation paper of who she is. Mine was only a couple minutes. Machines must hate rural people this year.

I gotta start keeping tract of things better. My wife made some bars that were heavy in peanut butter for Saturday. Sunday I had a couple, while a slight allergy it’s not a big deal with an occasional amount. Yesterday without thinking I had peanut on toast for breakfast. It’s fun when you can feel your lungs, back and upper body muscles kinda constrict and you spend a couple hours making sure you breathe deeper than usual. I don’t make my family alter their meals for me, I just try to keep tract. I obviously did a poor job yesterday.

I enjoy being kinda an a$$ with online bidding. When they say enter your high bid, I enter screwy bids. Instead of 60 even I will put in 63.71 type numbers. So the next bid will be like 66.21 to beat me. I’ve learned that people bidding get irritated with odd numbers for some reason.

I like the Oikos Triple Zero. I'll add a half/whole a scoop of protein powder to it. Tastes like pudding, but with lots of protein.

I grew up about 35 minutes from Ames so I just went home to vote when I was in college. I grew up in a rural area and voted in a county maintenance shed for one of the elections. I filled out my ballot next to some county snow plow trucks.

Not sure what to think of this. Was at gym and this old guy (older than me) and an exercise instructor gal were headed for the same machine I was. They opted for the one next to me instead after a short "Oh, no, after you!" I had seen them before, same thing in going for a machine at the same time a couple of weeks ago. So, later I am in free weights doing curls and the old dude is standing right next to me, watching me with his instructor. After I finish he asks me what I do for a living. Me "Retired". He says they had a bet, he said I looked like a lawyer and she was guessing I was in real estate. Told them project manager in a previous life so they they were both wrong. Jeez, I guess them saying car salesman would have been bad to.

Been back for a few weeks now after missing May - September due to the bulged disk thingy and have not seen the Russians. The Thee Amigos, aka The Three O'clock Club are still there at 3. As is Whitey Tee and Big Budda who is now Isiah since I chatted with and he has a real name. Bidness Gal is still there.
