Not sure if best, but super underrated is the Wet Hot American Summer soundtrack.

Also some of my other favs are the Matrix, O' Brother Where Art Thou, and Pitch Perfect.

There’s an interesting line to be drawn.

Ziggy Stardust is a theatrical film with a theatrical soundtrack. If it counts it’s right there with purple rain but it’s nearly just a filmed concert. Purple Rain is more of an actual movie but a movie about Prince music, Hard Day’s Night is the same thing as Purple Rain. Tommy is a theatrical musical. Saturday Night Fever on the other hand doesn’t feature the actual BeeGees but the film still seems like a vehicle for the soundtrack and band far more than a soundtrack supporting the film.

Also not a movie, but the entire Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise is fantastic.

One not listed, the newest a Star is Born, for original songs. Also Young Guns 2 was one of my favorite original soundtracks -Bon Jovi. I also enjoyed the Unforgiven instrumental soundtrack for awhile (theme song written by Clint Eastwood).

For others not listed -I spent a lot of time with the Natural Born Killers soundtrack back in the day. Also Superbad...

The Persona 5 video game probably has the best video game soundtrack in recent history.

Saturday Night Fever soundtrack literally dominated part of the 70s for a while. It was HUGE.

DISCO SUCKS!!! Sorry. I grew up in the late seventies. It is a conditioned response whenever I see “Saturday Night Fever”.
I’ve grown to appreciate the Bee Gee’s talent over the years.
