Potentially unpopular opinion here, but after the Liberty Bowl and being told it didn't matter because bowls don't matter, simply being bowl eligible doesn't do much for me at the moment. I really wanted 10 wins, or even an actual 9-3 regular season record would be nice.

After last year’s Liberty Bowl disaster, and the number of folks for whatever god-forsaken reason trying to justify it, I’m definitely soured on bowl games.

Agreed but to some degree, that's always gonna be a little bit of a challenge . Which is why the scheme is the way it is. Confuse the offense, try to buy time , frustrate the QB and blocking schemes etc...

and most of the time it works.

Problem is, when you start playing an offense that has better athletes and their OC can start saying ....


Oh, okay, I see why you do that... and that ... and that... etc.

It becomes today real, real fast defensively

With a 12 team playoff in a Big 10 West league nobody better be touting 9 wins after all the **** we gave Iowa during their time in the B10 West.
