It also lets boosters of other programs to get in a kid’s ear to redshirt and transfer a few games into a season. Again, I think it could work with some guard rails in place. But the NCAA doesn’t seem to have the power or desire to put those guard rails in place.

Maybe limit it to underclassman.

Pope at Kentucky is going to be like Hoiball on steroids

Here was my take on him years ago at the end of Prohm/pre TJ:

Besides the Beilein/Matta types I'd really look at BYU's Mark Pope.
From the area, played at Kentucky, decent cup of coffee in Europe and NBA. Turned around Utah Valley, doing well at BYU now.
My concern with that and I'll say it politely is that he is Mormon and it may take a really good job to lure him away from there.

This KU team is pretty athletic.

KU has a "hometown"transfer from South Dakota State, Zeke Mayo. I remember him playing against ISU in Omaha.

Cooper Flagg had a rough last minute or so. A couple turnovers and the missed box out.

Been waiting to see him play. Both turnovers and missed box out were in the last 26 seconds with score tied at the time. Unfortunately, that is all of the game I saw. Kid will be very good, but he is still a freahman.

17 year old freshman at that, he is very legit already. Might have a melo at Syracuse situation

Meh. He’ll be judged by what he does in the conference and tournament. When you’re relying on a 17 year old, there will be growing pains.

Interesting how? They lost by 2 to Kentucky in an early season tournament style matchup. Kentucky, while with a new coach/etc. is still a top 20 team. No shame in losing. They will get better. Flagg is legit.

2023 lost to KU, Purdue, best noncon win was Xavier
2024 lost to Arizona, Purdue, best noncon win was Baylor
2025 lost to UK, and has those games I mentioned

I don't know what Duke fan's patience level are but that could get dicey.

WVU beat a very physical umass team. 2-0. both wins at home. I think the Devries era is off to a solid start. WVU isnt back to top 25 status, but doesnt look to be a doormat either.

I heard the announcers talking about Frank Martin and was wondering why they were bringing up his name. I absolutely did not recognize him on the sideline, even when they showed him up close.
