I think loose meat sandwiches work best because I feel like that’s something that you don’t see nearly as much outside of Iowa. Kind of like Wisconsin should have been a butter burger or cannibal/wildcat sandwiches (a raw minced beef sandwich on rye with diced onions) for Wisconsin.

They also could have given us a pork tenderloin, but they gave that to Indiana and again put a ton of unnecessary toppings on it.
I like my tenderloins with yellow mustard and pickle slices. That's it.

Add sliced onions and I'm with you. Same with loose meat sandwiches.

I make loose meat sammies at home frequently. Brown meat with the diced onions, salt, pepper. Put on bun with dill pickles and mustard. So good. Wife does not agree.

This is my first post in RTT. Wasn't sure if I would be allowed into the inner sanctum. Enjoyed reading all the posts over the years. Check in daily. Thanks for the entertainment.
Now you've gone and done it, and there's no turning back. We are a friendly bunch, just in case you wondered about our language.

Not exactly sure.
Now that Pants is still waiting on dial up or whatever, who is in charge of the introductory dikpiks he used to send? Not me.

mustard and pickles? My LEAST favorite toppings...for ANYthing.

Put a small amount of mayo on the bun halves and put them on a griddle to brown them. Then put thinly sliced onion rings on the tenderloin and put it on the bun. Make sure the meat is at least three times the size of the bun & Bob's your uncle. :D

So, apparently our activities after the game last Saturday night have been circulating, and I figure I'd best clue the rest of y'all in on our fun. Those of you that I know on FB have probably already seen these. And as the aforementioned Pants told me yesterday - we have a VERY strange way of celebrating a win.

TacoCar vs deer. Deer was a 4pt (or thereabouts); a youngish buck that wasn't quite full grown, but still nearly as big as TacoCar. Deer is dead, TacoCar is still running, so I guess TacoCar won?

Responding officer did NOT know DNR rules, so despite our trying to explain them to him he informed us that he had already called someone who was coming to pick up OUR deer. We tried dealing with the higher ups at Ames PD, today but they were apparently unaware of the rules either...until they called the DNR and were told that the vehicle operator does, in fact, get "first dibs" on the deer, and if they don't want it, the deer then goes to charity, then to the first person on the road kill list. The deer had minimal damage (neck broke, instant death) so none of the meat was tainted by blood in the muscles. IMO, the responding officer should have to call the person they gave the deer to, and tell them that he screwed up and shouldn't have given it to them. But I'm not going to win that one. Net result, we have 3/4 of a car that was small to begin with, and no venison sausage to show for it.
