Just rewatched the game, and it was a dominating performance with three huge mistakes. Pretty lucky to have survived all that, but the guys played really well on both sides of the ball. Everything is still there for the taking despite everything that they've gone through this year.

It was weird...ISU imo looked the best they've looked in a few weeks for getting off the ball on O and defense, and had very few penalties, etc. but then just couldn't keep it on the rails in some glaring moments.

A lot like the UCF game, if ISU cashes in the TD instead of the pick 6, that may have unofficially sealed it.

Yet another game thread where the negative posters who know we're gonna lose, vanish when we win.
A lot of crow sandwiches this year that are mounting up in the kitchen without being eaten.

ISU isn't perfect, our coaches aren't, but I'm glad the team doesn't have a lot of this mentality.
Lol. Dude it's forum people are allowed to *****. You don't have to have blind optimism 100% time to exist here. That's just the same as being critical 100% of the time.

I conked out at halftime so let me see if I got this right:

We gave up a pick 6, fumbled punt FG, and a blocked punt TD and won on the road against the overwhelming preseason favorite?

Don't forget the 90ish yard TD drive in the last 5-6 minutes led by a 4th string QB that looked like Axel Rose to give Utah the lead after essentially shutting them down all game.
This one had all the fixins'.

Yeah as much as that sucked that it was close overall that's as good as we have looked on both offense and defense for an entire game. The pick 6 was bad and ST was horrible. Utah's defense is no slouch and that environment sounded rowdy

We won and kept our hopes alive for another week, but a giving a game away like we tried to do last night would have stuck with the program for a long time. We make those types of mistakes against KSU and they will bury us. The KSU coaches are going to love scheming the QB run after what we have shown the last half of the season stopping it.

It was on option plays. The same thing that Cincy did, the same thing KU did. Wonder what KSU is going to do when they have an explosive QB like Avery?

It was the point when we made their 5th stringer look like prime Pat White I thought we may be cooked.

And avoided a career long FG attempt to tie in the closing seconds by a former ISU commit. It would have been the most ISU ending ever.

Correct. A game thread is a very, very safe (and correct) place to vent about a live sporting event. Having really passionate fans is a really good thing. No one is harming anyone by expressing frustration. What happens in a game thread, stays in a game thread.

RPO that our outside DE and backer bit and came down, QB pulled the ball and was off to the races. Its been there all season for Becht, but either he or the coaches do not want him to keep it. We better play sound gap football against KSU or their QB will kill us running the ball.

ISU has notoriously **** the bed on a couple occasions already when a conference championship game berth was in their hands with a win.

You can't blame people for guarding against it. It'll be good to get that monkey off our backs Saturday night.

Our history of screwing up these opportunities, our history of blowing games against KSU, our struggles against mobile QBs and KSU has a great one this year. Lots of factors stacking up here. Feels like nut cup weather next weekend.

I agree with all of this but is there a team/program out there that has a good history with mobile QBs?
