The Chiefs and Bills have done a pretty good job of shutting down Lamar Jackson in the playoffs.

True but I'm thinking more of college programs that don't have a collection of the best players on the planet.

There's certainly instances where teams are successful in shutting a mobile QB down but it takes a REALLY well executed game plan.

Lol. Dude it's forum people are allowed to *****. You don't have to have blind optimism 100% time to exist here. That's just the same as being critical 100% of the time.
Theres a massive difference between ******** and people saying we're going to lose/game's over in the second qtr when its only a 1 possession game.
Or before we even have the last drive with 5 minutes left and saying "I've seen this too many times, we're not scoring."

People should be critical but there are certain people who have close to zero faith atleast half a dozen times this season alone.

ISU has notoriously **** the bed on a couple occasions already when a conference championship game berth was in their hands with a win.

You can't blame people for guarding against it. It'll be good to get that monkey off our backs Saturday night.
Luckily our “history” blowing these opportunities was when our current players were in diapers and CMC was playing college football.

It’s not really something that sticks with the program when it’s only happened like twice and 20yrs ago

I can't be the only one that thought of Chase Daniels when the Utah QB was injured?

Second point, it just makes you wonder what idiot at Fox thought it would make so much sense for Fox to put the ASU/Arizona game on in the afternoon, and have the Iowa State game a night game. Time zone, temperature?

A win is a win!

You can’t totally bank on it but November is a lot more reliable for a day game in AZ than Oct.

The only thing that doesn’t suck about Utes fans is they cared about a 4 win team. They should realize that makes them far more like ISU and KSU but they think they’re like Stanford or UCLA.

A lot of posts about first drives of games scoring a touchdown. It's actually very common. Offensive coaches from the other team just scripts plays which will take advantage of things a particular defense has shown them on film. After the initial drive, the defensive coaches adjust accordingly. Watch and you'll see it happen in a lot of games. It's usually nothing to over worry about unless the adjustments aren't made.

If you guys want to see how the Big12 championship might play out, check out this excellent online predictor:

If we win out (win vs K State next week), we are in Big12 championship.
This isn’t accurate. There is still a scenario where we end up tied with ASU and Colorado and lose the tiebreak.

Utah fans chirping about Big 12 refs again.

Yeah I cruised their social media and they had all kinds of rage over stuff I barely noticed. They wanted criminal charges on the tackle that took out their QB…which turned out to be the best play of the entire season for Utah, basically gave 100 yards to a bad offense. You’re welcome Utes.

The SEC took a hit in ESPN’s so-called power rankings. The Big 10 is now the darling of ESPN, at least for today. Iowa State moved five places up to 17.

If we win out, and tie with ASU and Colorado (all 7-2 and assuming BYU looses), Colorado will be ranked #1 and we will be ranked #2. We win the tie breaker over ASU (tie breaker d, SOS of all conference opponents). If BYU also happens to win out (all 7-2), it will be ASU #1 and ISU #2, again the tie breaker rule d (#4) SOS of all conference opponents gives us the edge.

I don't see any scenario where if we beat K State, that we don't make in the BIG Championship, but post it here if you know it.

Speaking of overwhelming preseason favorite Utah it’s pretty comical that it only took one season to convert USC and UCLA into Big Ten West teams.

Idk… I saw it stated somewhere on this very internet that even if they win, there is like a 5% chance they lose the tiebreaker.
