I don’t honk I have ever seen Caleb Love have a good game. Whenever I check the stats he is always 2-10, 3-15, 5-20, etc. Someone please explain why there is any hype around him

Big 12s reign as the best conference, which it probably was from 2014 until now is over. I think the big football tv money coming in is going to give the SEC and Big 10 the advantage in basketball too. Their ability to pay players is greater.

I agree with this somewhat. But CBB hasn’t been about the top recruit winning titles on their own often. It’s been about the team who plays together better and can play defense. I don’t know that necessarily comes together in November. I’ll be more worried when the SEC starts snatching up the coaches more than the recruits. Also, no one is spending $20m on a basketball team. The cost to enter these basketball recruiting negotiations is a lot lower for the Big12 and ACC schools to be in the mix.

As for Arizona, I don’t think they’re very good. I think they feasted on a weak PAC for years and they’re going to look mediocre by the time they get through a tough conference schedule.

i think this league just lost a lot of talent from last year. It may be a bit down from years past, but there’s still a lot of freshman talent around that’ll grow into problems for the league.

It’s what ESPN does. They over cover one person or one story to the point that you root against them because you are sick of it. See coverage of Caitlin Clark for an example.

Lamelo Ball was the worst. He actually is good when healthy but they covered him as a rookie like a vastly superior version of Jordan.

SEC I see it, big ten it’s still some future theory.

The strength of the big 12 during the 10 team era was we usually had 8 tourney caliber teams…80%. No other conference ever had more than 50-60%. Then on top of it we had a few programs win recent natties and make final fours…again a drastically higher % of the conference than anybody else.

Sure we brought in Arizona and Houston but we also brought in 6 other teams (good but not elite) and with 16 we won’t have that depth anymore. Possible we’ll never see any conferemce as deep as that 10 team era.

The two mega cash conferences taking bad basketball schools and leaving elite historic basketball schools was enough alone to elevate us for a while. Either of them could’ve had KU, Zona or UConn and passed.

This could be but I think there are some other teams to be heard from in the Big XII yet.

BYU does not appear to have missed a step with coaching change and has some elite recruits coming in next couple classes.

I think Cincy is going to be a real problem this year and probably going forward.

I am very interested to see what Devries does at WVU in a couple of year.

Maybe we are seeing a changing of the guard in the Big XII as much as anything?
