I'm driving 10 hours for the Kansas State game... What is your excuse?

I’m a slacker. I didn’t drive 25 hours to the coast then swim 4 days in the ocean before shooting some Auburn fan to get tickets for Maui. Will watch it on tv.

As far as KState game, our tickets are going to be used, but Mrs. Best and I have a holiday conflict so will have to watch it on tv also. Prefer to be in our seats when we can. Promise I will be there if we host Penn State or some other team in the playoffs.

Feels like our fan base has gotten so soft over the years.....ladies and gents, this is late November, it is usually cold...this is not a new phenomenon.

We could make history on Saturday night with a win. I'm not buying any of your excuses unless you live in Taiwan or something.

And the evidence of this is what, exactly?

By increasing the overall average attendance of football games after decades of very lackluster attendance.... oh wait, that's not evidence.

the attendance at the Cincy game....we were 7-2 heading into that game, still in contention for a conference championship game and we sold 9k less tickets than our seating capacity....and the excuses I heard were "it was too cold".........it was 45 degrees

I've successfully recruited a Cyclone fan from Iowa City/Coralville area to come up for the game Saturday!

Taiwan #1! (if you get this reference I love you)

People nowadays are just full of excuses. And don't get me started on the Sukup End Zone Club people.

Omg, same. I used to sit in right in the seats behind the middle of the goal posts back in the day. It was full to mostly full (unless the season was a complete disaster.)

Since bowling in SEZ/Sukup club I'm sure the revenue is up, but it looks awful on TV. Even during nice weather games seats look empty since everyone is in at the inside bar anyway. Oh well...

Yep, there was no excuse for that. Weather was a-okay for Cincy game.

By putting 53,000 people in the stadium two years ago on Thanksgiving break in 20-degree weather for a team that was 1-6 in the league at that point.

For almost singlehandedly keeping the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City.

For punching above our weight over and over and over again in bowl selection thanks to fan attendance.

For getting picked to go to Ireland because people know we will travel.

And these people are pissing themselves because a few thousand people didn't use their tickets for Cincinnati the week after Kansas destroyed us. Who exactly is soft here?

I think there are more fair weather fans which is good because it means we're growing as a fanbase. They are a slightly loud minority. I am seeing a lot more dumb takes on twitter from burner accounts these days.
We're probably blowing out of proportion on this website but that's because we're passionate. It will sell out.

"it's too cold"

"it's too hot"

in basketball, "we're playing Kansas City" as we have a top 5 team and the student section is half empty.

Was Hilton packed for buy games at any point?

I went to conference games about twenty years ago and could sit about anywhere I chose. One was Tinsley's senior year vs. Tech as they were closing in on the regular season title.

When did this 'getting soft' start if it was apparently already in place?
