F Auburn. Hate Auburn and Bruce Pearl.

Great first half and a lot to learn from in the 2nd. No shame in a last-second tip-in loss to #4 (unless they go on to be arse the rest of the year).

The part that always hurts the most is having a double-digit lead at any point in a game and losing. I know the 3-ball has made double-digit leads not what they used to be, but still.

Hate Bruce Pearl but I say they have the rankings exactly right, only maybe it's 1-2. Remember it's early season and we always improve.

No, you force them to defend the whole time and see if you can sneak an easy layup. Whether you get a shot off with 20 or 10 doesn't matter. They're getting it back. Even if you get the board you can run it out at 20.
I don't think i agree. They get out back regardless of when you get the shot up...so its more about making sure you do score, not whe you score.

Kind of like the final 4 minute drive in football Saturday. Sure, it'd be nice to score with no time left... but priority IS scoring.

That play wasn't the way I would have done it. What had worked all game was ball movement and in and out kicks. That wasn't it.

I think we're in a great place... but not happy with that last possession.

That result does NOT change what I think the ceiling or floor of this team is

Would have loved to see a kG kickout to Milan who I don't even think was out there on the last play. Just way too much Gilbert trying to do it all himself tonight.
He wasn't. He wasn't on the floor during their 16-2 run or whatever either. We have been told all offseason that Milan stepped up his defensive game. Why is he not on the floor? I guess that's for the coaches to defend.

bummer.

at least we learned the new bigs will be sufficient. all 3 played big at times. too many turnovers and bad shots in the second half. they are going to smoke whomever has the misfortune of playing them tomorrow.

It’s the same play that is always run when TJ wants to run out the clock. They needed to run the normal offense regardless of how much time was left on the clock.
Yep. I don't love only having one play in that situation either.

Jefferson had a tough second half. Got burned a few times. Look a little lost at times. Body language was dragging towards the end.

Between him not rebounding and Milan getting burnt on the perimeter, our defense gave up 50 points in the second half.
