Hate to say it, but those two really bad free throws from Lipsey hurt even more now. Obviously not the reason we lost but yikes
I mean overall we shot really well from the free throw line which is great. Lipsey shot was flat and short all night. Not sure if his shoulder is bothering him or what.

I don't think i agree. They get out back regardless of when you get the shot up...so its more about making sure you do score, not whe you score.
We forced them to defend a dribble hand-off and that's it after standing around for 10 seconds. You should be hitting them with actions the whole time to see if you can get an easy back cut for a layup or someone lost in screens for a good look from distance from your desired shooters. We put all of our eggs in a basket that predictably got triple teamed.

Jefferson was not good after first 6-7 minutes of game. Last possession made no sense to have him in over Milan!
Agreed…He seemed a step slow and his conditioning looked bad at times. He looked tired. He’s got to be better at securing the ball when it’s loose. And boxing out.

Man that hurts but encouraged by the way we played. That was a high level game. Too much forcing it into the posts to go 1 v 1 on Broome, Lipsey was a non-factor on offense (is he hurt?), Gilbert foul trouble, and poor defensive rebounding. The great part is we played them well and still feels like we have lots of growth left and a game like this will pay dividends later on.

I don't think Lipsey has ever *not* been hurt his entire ISU career. Pretty sure his shoulder is (and has been) ground beef but just plays through it with painkillers.

I got ripped for saying this earlier. I love TJ. He’s great for ISU basketball, but he’s got to get better at drawing up easy buckets to kill runs. I swear we give up more 10 plus to 0 runs than anyone else.
That’s high level college basketball. Teams are going to make a run. I would expect us to do the same.

Why would they worn down? With our schedule that's a weird take
Our guys haven’t had to play true starter minutes. I thought we looked sluggish defensively starting the first half. When you aren’t in true game shape it’s hard to start the engine back up after you shut it down. It took us a good 6-8 minutes to match Auburns energy.

I think Jackson and Jefferson both showed they can play at this level. That was a huge test. They will continue to get better.

They have to get more physical down low. How many times did he get denied going for a dunk. He’s huge. If you try and stop a guy that big from dunking he should be breaking the guys hand on the rim. Ever see Shaq get denied? No because he knew to use physical force while throwing it down and rebounding

I never like the timeout, just attack unless you have some guaranteed go to play.

Center Ball screen for Gilbert… didn’t need a timeout to call that.

Hope when in same situation next time we just play it out between Jones, Lipsey, Gilbert.

I know it was because of defense, but seems like Mommy should have been in after calling that timeout.

Wait. Do we play UConn next then? If so, that’s terrifying, but also a great opportunity for a good win.

I could be wrong in where I give credit, but was it Doc Sadler on Fred Hoiberg's staff that was good at drawing up out of bounds plays and run stoppers out of timeouts?
