I think he just had nobody he could handle defensively. He came out after a baker three where he was just flat footed. He's never going to be able to match up with a team like auburn. It's not a slight it's just reality. Auburn had two pros out there tonight at his spot. Now why he wasn't in in the last play I have no idea. Never seems like we have a great plan out of timeouts.

He will have his nights, but it's just a brutal matchup for him tonight.

Good take and perspective.

Auburn is now 2-0 in the Big XII against the two best teams from last year. Perhaps, they are actually a really GOOD team! I hate Auburn, but I am not tripping about ISU losing tonight. National Championships are NOT won in Maui in November!
I agree with you unfortunately games like this can be huge for seeding down the road in March. A win vs a loss tonight might end up being the difference between a 1/2 seed vs a 3/4 seed

They put up 81 tonight after not scoring for 6 minutes in the second half. We played one of the best defensive teams in the country. The offense will be fine. If you want to be concerned about something be concerned about Otz’ substitution patterns and the amount of offensive rebounds we gave up
Agree with this. We went through long stretches of no Dishon Jackson in the second half and I couldn't figure out why.

Watson needs to be playing minutes over Heise
I’ve been defending him because “trust TJ” but I’m not seeing anything on his offensive Gabe that is better than Watson and Heise isn’t closing out and blocking any corner three point attempts.

I just hate holding the ball out of the timeout. It puts you at such a disadvantage to not start your set until there is 6 seconds left. No opportunity for secondary looks and ball movement. Just run offense and if you have a shot take it. Either way they were going to have plenty of time to get a shot off.

I just can’t understand the logic behind making them guard for 20 seconds instead of 6 seconds
In a tie situation, the logic is to hold the ball long enough to ensure the last possession and best case scenario get a shot off with 3-4 seconds left hoping for a make or a miss and a tip.

But that logic doesn’t work when your first offensive flow is to try to dribble between three defenders 23 feet from the basket.

I'm not worried about otz sub patterns. He's still figuring this year out, and he will. He always has.

There is absolutely no shot a loss to an auburn team who was favored over us, pushes us to a 3/4 seed. Obviously have to win conference games but 0% chance this game alone changed our seeding that much

It’s true, but we have a team that went toe to toe with a top 3 team in the nation. I’m not sure we see a better individual player than Broome all year.

Seeding is important, but we have a squad who can beat anyone. That’s all that will matter in March.

The logic works when there’s a 2-3 second difference between shot and game clock. With the 10 seconds they have it doesn’t make sense
