I believe it was the Willoughby years that we were ranked #4 heading into a non-con game in Hilton against...Marquette. I was there. It didn't end well. Putting this out there so it doesn't happen again.

Barta the one who fumbled extending McCaffery. Don’t think the new AD wanted to spend 15 million to buy Fran out. Guessing she doesn’t renew his contract though.

Exactly why his youngest didn’t commit to Iowa. They know the end game.

Iowa would have been better off rolling the dice on 3-4 coaches over an entire generation of Fran. This last missed opportunity is just the worst of many.

It genuinely makes me sad. I grew up a huge Iowa basketball fan, it's so incredibly mediocre now compared to then. Lick just scarred the program for life, they're totally paralyzed.

How did Lick scar them for life? Hawk fans have continued to use that excuse 15 years later. For christs sake it’s college basketball, a couple players can turn a program around in an instant, see TJ. Lick was bad, but Prohm bottomed us out completely. TJ has this thing humming in h year 4. What’s Iowas excuse?

I don't get it, but that's what happened.

They all assume if they ditch super mediocre Fran they'll be guaranteed to get the next Lick. It's insane, they just basically forfeited a generation of basketball for this dude and his sons.

Because they let go of a guy who was consistently getting to the tournament and ended up with lick.

They're deathly afraid of the same thing happening again.

But yes, they should just be rolling the dice and if that doesn't work, re-roll

I will not stand for this Fran slander. Guy has earned at least another 5 years. If he wants more, I support that.
