NFL makes no sense. He's pretty clear that his passion is molding young men. Maybe down the line.
The NFL makes a ton of sense for any football coach with the current state of college football, especially at ISU. You go out and stick your neck out for ushers young and he gets poached. Any guy you can unearth (because you can’t afford high end recruits) is a constant poaching risk. On top of that, now you’re in a conference treated as a G5 essentially. Like, if you just want to coach football, the NFL makes sense.

I agree that I do think he finds it important to mold the kids, but I also recognize a lot has been added to the negative side of the ledger.

Also, FWIW, the personnel stuff was down the line.

I'll take some of whatever you are smoking if you think a low level SEC job is even on his radar. Wtf are we doing here, this thread is a largely embarrassing showcase of our ridiculous inferiority complex we've built over the last 50 years.

If he leaves for USC or almost did, great who the **** cares? It would only be for the money not access to success, and we all know he isn't driven by money. I could meet some ******* USC booster on a beach at Saylorville saying we almost got your coach, yet that doesn't mean what they said has any basis in reality.

We are on the eve of the biggest football game in ISU history and this idiot thread is at the top of the recent posts. Y'all got problems and it has nothing to do with Campbell's decisions after this season.

I have a far better insight than you. I know that for a fact, knownothing.

Yeah my dad is best friends with Jim Criener and Jamie pollard. We have a suite at the games. I bet you have major insite. I used to be a ball boy, my brothers were ball boys, my son was a ball boy under Fred hoiberg, my daughter was a ball girl for bill. Guessing u have way more info than me. Also, I never claimed to have insite, I’m giving my opinion. You are the one acting like he has some sort of insider info, you don’t. You know nothing and are embarrassing yourself. Just quit

Also Frank Nigol is one of my best friends and one of our families best friends . So yeah I don’t know nothing. By keep up your nonsense

In regards to the USC rumor, I was on vacation in Anna Maria Island a couple summers ago.
Wearing ISU, someone came up to me and said "we almost got your coach." I 100% assumed they were a FSU fan. They said USC (and they are a booster). They said Campbell flew out for interview, then had wife come and she's the one that shot it down.
Remember, he was content at the time in Toledo but she made him listen to Pollard. She has also had house remodeled/worked on.
I think if he ever leaves, her voice is absolutely critical in that decision.
And a couple days before Pollard hired Chiz, I had an ISU booster tell me Harbaugh was the next coach.

I’m not doubting he interviewed and visited. No idea if they offered or didn’t. Hell there’s no harm in interviewing and visiting. Worst case it makes you appreciate where you’re at.

He's not an NFL coach and has indicated he doesn't want to be. My only point. No clue what the bolded last sentence meant

Wut? Granted we’ve had more real success in basketball than football, but we’re nowhere near as much of a basketball school as UNC is.
This. If they think ISU basketball looms over football...wait until he experiences UNC Basketball and how it looks over their football culture.

The advantage UNC would have over ISU is recruiting territory.

That said, CMC isn’t going anywhere.
