Nah, they have a shot at the playoff if they get to 10-2. It's a long shot, but it's one you play for.

SMU vs Clemson. Clemson winning could really shake things up and screw over the ACC. Miami is a bit exposed now and a two loss SMU is probably out. This would most likely mean more SEC but there are scenarios where the odd team out in the big 12 gets near the top 12, they could even end up ahead of every ACC team.

Maybe, it'll be interesting to see how far Clemson drops this week. The SMU/BYU head to head would be a weird precedent.

BYU still has a very slim chance at making the playoff as an at-large. Yeah, it's not great... but lose and that chance is zero.

Agreed. If I am BYU you have to win and then go for style points if you can. Long shot, but it’s worth trying.
