They still do mail in rebates for contacts. I know they still do it hoping you won't make the effort but it always feels like I'm going back in time when I see it.
If you have a Costco membership - take a look at them for Contacts. I priced it out earlier this year and it was cheaper (about $150 and saved all the hassle) to buy from them with no rebate than going through my eye doctor with the rebate.

I don't but I was planning on shopping around this time instead of just buying them from the eye dr. Worked for glasses when my kid got them recently.

Traffic lights that are not timed correctly to keep traffic flowing.

People that stop at roundabouts when there's no one coming.

Both inefficient af and easily correctable. Aggravating.
People who stop first at an all way stop, then make eye contact and wave you through.

Nope, I do work in technology though so some similarities. I have to deal with technology engineers that can sometimes have no clue how their products actually work for the user base or how something they want to roll out or change is going to cause impacts they aren't accounting for during their planning and testing.
What we may see as an inefficiency or it shouldn't be this hard is usually due to other requirements say from accounting or warehouse to track units on hand or especially in this case cost tracking. Or even this being a corner case as another poster pointed out the probability of consumers tracking unit price like you did is likely low and really how often do they encounter times that these go on sale multiple times in quick succession. Thus it is more of a corner case that is rarely if ever encountered so therefore not designed for.

It's not really an inefficiency - as the odds of them coming out ahead on this, overall, are high. If there's 100 customers that all were in this same spot - probably 85 of them are not going to hassel with a return (or even be aware of the price drop) and the 15 who do return the item - will not cost the company all that much overall.
I figure this is the case, just annoying being on the consumer end of it. I'm guilty of not cashing in on all the 11% rebate receipts I get from Menards purchases. When it's a bigger purchase I am quick to send them in, if its small and only a few bucks I'm less motivated to fill out the form and mail it in.

If I do stop and text/talk I’m usually mindful enough to move off to the side. People who stop in the middle of a walkway, aisle, etc drive me nuts.

It’s not even a taking up space issue, it’s a time issue for me. Like “hold on I got a text” and you then expect me to stop with you while you read it and reply? Nope.

That's why I keep a stack of pre-filled forms and pre-addressed envelopes handy (printed, not handwritten, too, so I can generate them easily). Throw the receipts in the envelope, add a stamp, and it's on its way.

I use a variety of websites for my work that either
1) have two-step authorizations requiring my personal phone
2) require password changes monthly
3) log me out after 5 minutes of non-use

None of them are worthy of any level of security. They are all convenience-based and aren't tied to anything financial. Huge wastes of time.

The fact that airlines board seats at the front of the plane first drives me insane. It makes zero sense.

If you started with the back of the plane you pretty much theoretically have everybody entering with almost no stopping to their row, simultaneously.

It's a status thing.

The only silver lining I find is at least I don't have to sit on the plane that much longer than needed.

You can also send several receipts in at the same time with a single form - all in the same envelope. Just don't wait too long, as each receipt has an expiration date.

Yup pretty much the same thing with my job and if you accidentally hit refresh or back on your browser they go back to the login page to start the login process over. I already deal with users that complain they don't want to use their phone for anything work related and "you can't force me to download a work app on my personal phone!" There are very few apps that are actually app developed by our company that one can say it's truly an app that we developed and host. Most now are 3rd party apps from Microsoft or someone like our token vendor that you need to use our VPN or 2FA for some sites. The later we can get around because they still offer a Windows app that puts the token on your work device but the more of our stuff goes to Cloud based applications and stricter login security I don't know how some of these people will be able to get around not putting something like Microsoft Authenticator on their phones in order to access stuff for work.

I'm not a fan myself of having to use a device that I paid for and pay for the service plan in order to do my job just so my employer doesn't have to pay for it. Especially when they once did provide me with a work iPhone and then discontinued that later to save some money. But it's becoming a common practice now in the corporate world that depending on what you do for a living that at some point if you have not already will have to install an app on your phone that will be needed to access a system you use at work. If you don't like then then good luck, you probably are not going to win that battle by refusing to use it and you either will comply or find a new job that doesn't require it.

Sex when married. Why do I have to spend 2 hours watching a movie I dont want to watch. Them go to the bedroom and snuggle while watching an episode of House Hunters that I have seen 9 times just for 5 minutes of mommy / daddy time? Just let me hit that swamp hole and then you can watch whatever you want in peace.
