did you not pay attention to what the selection committee said earlier this year? they scoffed at our conference schedule because we didn't play anyone nonconference... meaning we didn't have any good wins nonconference.
I guarantee you if we win the Big12 regular season and win the Big12 Tournament, the Clones will be a #1 seed. Bank it. What happens tonight or against Iowa isn't going to matter.

Anything less than winning the Big12 and our seeding will be dependent on how the Big12 is viewed as a conference and how teams in the other P4 conferences are ranked.

In the 2024 NCAA Tournament what did the 4 #1 seeds have in common? UConn, Houston, UNC and Purdue ALL were regular season conference champs.

What did the NCAA Tournament #2 seeds have in common? Tennessee & Arizona were their conference regular season conference champs. The other #2 seeds (ISU & Marquette) finished second in the regular season standings. They just happened to be from the 2 top ranked conferences (Big12 & Big East).

So all this talk of non-conference wins is rhetoric. Finish 1 or 2 in the Big12 standings and we'll be fine. Tonight matters because it is the ONLY game we play today and Marquette is a really good team.

dunno. the fact that we're only keeping a very good team at only arm's length and not getting even more separation is freaking some people out.

I'm not freaking out.

ISU's just going to need to figure some things out here on offense or this will get very tight down the stretch.

That last possession was a good example.

we finished second in the Big 12 and gave Houston 2 losses and were the most deserving team of the final #1 seed... and instead we were placed as the last #2. they flat out stated the kind of nonconference we had last year - the kind you are stating is good enough - isn't. IT WAS A POINT OF EMPHASIS - they flat out SAID our nonconference last year wasn't good enough.

When you see the Marquette player's head whip back as the ball changes direction, it's a pretty obvious tip off that it's off him.

I feel like this team has a couple more gears it can hit that it can't get into.
