In order to be considered with the 2000 team, they need to win the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles, and make the Elite 8.

This team is really good but it will be a huge task.
What if they don't do the first two but make the final 4?

Big 12 may be having a down year at the right time for us.

By “down year,” I mean possibly only the 2nd best conference and maybe only 9 tourney teams.
it is definitely down this year. Houston has lost 3 already. Arizona sucking. 1-4 in the Big East Challenge unless Tech pulls it off. What makes you think it is the second best conference?

Jefferson had a quiet 15 and 12. Hopefully sign of things to come. Heise getting more comfortable and Chatfield continues to give solid minutes.

Very worried about Lipseys shoulder and Milan getting only 17 minutes is interesting although it looks like he’s regressed defensively and TJ just not having it.
With how much scoring and efficiency they can get from the 3 bigs, his offense isn’t as much of a necessity as it was last season.

It was a tough assignment for Milan. He didn’t match up well with those guys

I agree with whoever said it earlier in the thread: Smart is so much more likeable now that he's not at Texas. Nothing but compliments.

probably easier to be complimentary when his prior experience vs Iowa State was all vs Steve Prohm teams.

Marquette, Kentucky, Kansas all go down. Auburn is in a fight with Duke as we speak. And UK has to play Gonzaga this weekend as well.

We might be #2 or #3 for CyHawk week.

Shaka has always been a great coach and a standup guy. Texas was a bad culture fit for him. He’s so much better at Marquette.
Just a poor culture fit at UT and while he was bringing in great talent, many were one and done. He seems like the type of coach that needs to be at a BB school and not a school like UT that is football first, football second and then spring football third.

In Seattle, no less. UK was probably fraudulently rated in the top 5 to begin with. Sure, beating Duke was a good win for them, but outside of that they have played NOBODY.
