I wasn't around for Pete Taylor so I can't really comment.

But man, the day Walters and Heft are no longer on the call together will be a sad one. What a pairing.

I kind of hope Walters and Heft go out together.

Didn't he used to do play-by-play for some professional sports team? I have a vague memory of it and forgot what sport, but I seem to remember it was in Florida somewhere.

He worked for the Orlando Magic for a bit, but definitely not as a play-by-play guy. More media intern, I believe.

I remember when Walters would do the Big 12 Phillips 66 TV broadcasts with Gary Thompson. They were a good duo back then I thought. One of my favorite calls:

Lot of fond memories of Gary too.

Saw him a few months ago at an event. He's looking pretty fragile. Probably not long for this world unfortunately. Great ambassador for ISU.

I mean we did hire a hawk supporter PR person in Jackie.

She's a fan of whoever is writing her paycheck. She was nothing but complimentary in a presentation she did the other day towards ISU and didn't say a word about Iowa even though the opportunity was there. "Go State" and "how about the Cyclones!"

Wont be popular but the world could use more Jackies who use their platforms to bring light to the positives happening in the world. She's a great ambassador to the Iowa National Guard and the gazillion organizations she emcees events for.

By Hawk supporter, she wore an Iowa shirt when Caitlin Clark was in the Final Four, sure. She's a U alum.

I mean, from the social media images that out there, there was stuff from when it was cy-hawk week and she was clearly on the iowa side.

He's somehow worse than Zabel and Zabel didn't even attempt to call a game for the last 20 years he was doing it.

One of the best stories about Jim Zabel was recently heard on Ron Gonder's program on WMT radio. In the story Gonder told about the media hall of fame at the U of Iowa. After the regular season was over one year former Iowa coach Forest Evashevski who was doing the color commentary with Zabel thanked Jim for allowing him to be there for the 22 game season. When Zabel said the season was only 11 games Evy replied the 11 games I saw and the 11 games you broadcast.
