So you think it’s not one of the best atmospheres now that Jock Jams is gone?

Well this thread says to start the game it took away from the atmosphere. When I watched the game on TV it seemed dead until we finally got tied up. I’m a don’t mess with what works type guy. Jock jams is corny as hell but it’s our corny as hell. If they find a better song to use that gets the crowd hyped, I’m down with that. Does not seem like they did it

I get what you're trying to sell, but we're not asking to go back your definition of the 'zombie clapping' days. I just feel like pregame is missing the vibe where everyone was already in full game mode by tip-off. Maybe it’s a small thing to you, but it’s part of what drives the hype before the game even starts.

I've been to some big games at Hilton. Hell, even some of the mid-tier games had more crowd enthusiasm at the beginning than the Marquette game had.

Eventually the crowd got going, but if someone like @Drew0311 can tell something was off just from the TV broadcast, it was definitely felt in the arena.

We have a family group chat and we were all like “Why isn’t Hilton not Hiltoning right now”. We thought it was just a TV type situation

I’ll get dumbed for this, but most of you have an over inflated perception on how loud Hilton usually is. It’s top level for like 1-2 games a year. I’ve been to plenty of games against mid tier conference opponents like TCU or Texas Tech, and it just doesn’t get loud. Some of those games we are up most of the game by 10, but that’s where Cameron and Phog come out ahead of us. They are loud against everyone. When you compare to the rest of college basketball as a whole though Hilton is still great.

Students/crowd not doing a let's go state before tip is lousy.

It still happens, but about a third of the time the cheersquad members holding the cards can't line it up to match the music.

Should be on 1,2,3. Frequently happens on 3,4,1. Sometimes even on 2,3,4.

I guess I'm in the minority. I like the new intro with the pulsing red video board and then infi the rotating white lights. It looked awesome with the white out on Wednesday and frankly my group has been pretty hyped with it so far this year.

I do think they usually change up the intro once conference season starts though. So maybe they'll change it back to what the majority likes.
