I can't help but wonder if some of these Miami players won't actually end up playing.
The U wants to keep their ticket sales up so asked them to say/not say the helpful thing .... for now.
With Ward being in the top three of every mock draft I’ve seen (along with the two CU kids) I would be shocked to see him in the Pop Tart bowl.

It's a victory lap for the seniors and a chance to play in front of a wider audience against a team we likely don't have many previous meetings with, if any. We're not that far removed from getting to a bowl game being our goal for the season. It's not what it used to be and I hate seeing guys sit too, but why would anyone wish another game away? I'm also very hopeful that Pop Tarts goes full meme hijinx again and that we get some social media eyes on our brand just for being there.

Yeah, I know if we lose by 30 people are going to howl about it...both our fans and the people who want ISU/Big 12 ground into the dust.

So if we somehow beat Miami, regardless of if their NFL guys suit up, I'm going to fully enjoy it as a 100% awesome win without any disclaimer.

The 2020 season even more, this idea that because less fans could attend games we have to pretend our best and most talented team loaded with NFL stars didn't exist...don't fall for that ISU fans.

Someone else mentioned a special NIL deal could involve some extremely fat insurance policy.

Something like that wouldn't shock me, without something like that it's kind of crazy. People then say "well why play at all", but he wouldn't be a projected top pick without showing out this year. You could argue sitting out second half or last few games of a season but not the whole season.

We requested club level seats through ISU (donate $300 to NCC). I figured we wouldn't get our request fulfilled but we did. Got to figure that doesn't bode well for attendence.

Probably.

But maybe it just means that there will be a different crowd than the usuals at this one.

I watch a lot of Miami since they are my 2nd favorite team and I disagree with him carving us up.

He's good but he would be 1000x better if he'd scramble some. Instead he constantly sits in the pocket way to long.

Restrepo is a great WR and they have a good freshman WR but honestly their play calling is really suspect. They have 2 good RB's but nothing better than we've seen in the Big 12.

They defense is their weakness. They are constantly lost in coverage and miss assignments in the running game.
Is it time to fire up the "QB is not mobile" alert?

;)

I've been assuming he has to keep saying this ahead of the Heisman voting. We'll see what he says next week.

I'd bet he doesn't play, or maybe dresses and plays sparingly.
If he and his coaches have done any opposition research--they will know we will only rush three people the entire first half and he will not even be touched, much less get a grass stain on his uniform.....so I agree he will probably play most of first half then have a plan to sit out rest of game when they are up two or three touchdowns.
After watching all the warriors in both games so far today.....I really hope our coaches and Rocco re-consider his conditioning to slide feet first for this last game.....seriously.......so many critical yards given up when the referee cheats you 2 or 3 every time (yes, even about the subjective "start to slide" point). And you could argue the effort to slide and be passive actually can cause more dangerous exposure, hits, or injury. Deliver the hit Rocco....don't recieve it.
