Fellers mom & dad were there. I would guess he will go to Iowa, but why not check out other programs.

Not sure on the weight of Jeter
Fellers and Iowa had a falling out when Chittum came here. Tin foil hat wearing Brands brothers think Fellers pushed Chittum here (why they would think that I have no idea) instead of he just didn’t want to be on a team with the Ferrari family.

2 things - Can we move these to a 25-26 recruiting thread?
- Forrest/Bassett/Ross - Do we have a realistic shot on 1 or more? Many will say it's pie in the sky, but getting Chittum and Carroll (both on the rebound, but still..) gives me hope.

Good little group of guys, I wish there would've been more said about who was going to be on their visit this weekend. Great to see Jax here but I didn't see him at the social or Jeter I did see Hinson and Honnold. Both are great in-state talents. Getting Jax to Ames would be special, but I don't see that happening. Jeter is a good athlete and Hinson has a legacy name around Ames, I hope he sticks around. I don't think he's done climbing the ranks

while we will see it on smaller scale next year if rosters are capped at 30 / football transfers and rosters will look completely different as roster max is 105 next year

There are a lot of good kids in these wrestling rooms that could be wrestling NAIA, D2, D3 - will those rosters be capped as well? The trickle down effect could be good to spread talent out

limits apply to D1
The level of D2, D3, NAIA would go up drastically. Or other schools like Oregon, Boise state, Texas Tech, Kentucky, Colorado, Arizona, Washington and many more could add wrestling and women’s wrestling. Because college is supposed to be about opportunities and the student athlete right?

I'm predicting we see these kids shifting from the official roster to CRTC or Cyclone Wrestling Club so they can stay in the same school and continue to help the team as a practice partner. Wrestle offs could be used to determine the finals spots on the official roster.

now if your not on the official 30 man roster, how does that affect student athletes on who are receiving athletic scholarship $?

If they are not on roster they will get no scholarship $ which isn’t much different as there are probably only 20 or so that are receiving scholarship $ now.

They can still get NIL though.

From an ESPN article on the settlement ...
According to the recent NCAA settlement, scholarship athletes who are moved off a roster due to new roster limits will not lose their scholarships;they must still be fully funded by the university, even if they are no longer actively competing on the team; however, this could mean a reduced roster spot and potential limitations on practice opportunities depending on the sport and the school's approach to managing the new roster caps.

No loss of scholarship:
The new NCAA rules stipulate that current scholarship athletes cannot lose their scholarship due to roster cuts resulting from the new limits.

Jeter is a big OU guy, and he liked Cornell too. I think we have a shot, but I think he ends up at OU in the end. 165/174 projected

Wishful thinking is that we would be pulling in 3-5 studs every year in the top 100/150 like the other top programs.

We usually do pull roughly 3 each year in the top 150. Obviously some years are heavier than other. The problem is we need to get like 2 top 20 recruits each year or every other year ideally.

Last years class had 3 top 50 in Herrera, Meza and Bartelt. Class ranked 12th.
The year before would have been Swizderski's class, which had both Frost's who were top 150. Perryman and Euton who were both top 75, MJ Gaitan top 20, Manny Rojas top 20 and Swz top 5. Class ranked 2nd.

We have a lot of money wrapped into the 2022 class.

It's probably why next years class isn't too big. Look for another big class in probably 2027.

I hope '26 is our big class. Looks to be a loaded group on paper.

Any recent recruiting news? It seems like it has been a little while since we have had any buzz. Not meaning anything in a bad way, just curious if we have any upcoming recruiting visits planned or list of prospects we are targeting for 25/26?
