Saban and McAfee going scorched Earth on this NIL clownshow.
Good. Alabama is mad because others also have money. They are also mad because players can bring blue bloods to their knees. They are also mad because teams like Taco Tech can throw a monkey wrench into their ”exclusive” club.

I was in the building and the rapist chants definitely happened. I get he deserved it, but still an ugly moment I didn't enjoy.
Meh.

I have a bigger problem with the F*** this or F*** that chants than I do giving it to a kid who rapes people, especially when their coaching staff then tries to cover it up. As far as I am concerned the student section should be no holds barred when you've got people like that still playing when their program should clearly be cutting bait. I feel the same way about a person who is an accessory to murder getting zero disciplinary action by their program. I would be disappointed if the student section DIDN'T give them hell.

Too many of those programs' games the announcers don't call enough attention to the hypocrisy. At least everyone watching on TV is reminded by the student section chants.

It is what it is. I didn't like the circumstances around it and the majority of the blame falls on the U of I, coaches, and Pierce. Still, hearing a crowd chant rapist full throat at someone, whether it is warranted or not, is not a moment I enjoyed and hope it's not something I ever have to experience again. I'm not ashamed of that and don't think it's a feeling I should have to defend, but here we are I guess.

I don't think you have any reason to be ashamed nor have to defend anything. But that also doesn't mean I need to share any discomfort. But here we are I guess.

If the only consequences a guy like that suffers is embarrassment during games, I hope we take that embarrassment to its full extent.

**** 'em.

But I think he has been a bit ahead of the curve compared to his peers on Tang's coaching abilities, too. It's an uphill battle. The after- taste from that initial kool-aid lingers very hard. I get wanting him to succeed, but even if they were winning, there's still a lot of there there that needs to be acknowledged. It's just not cool to keep pretending otherwise, especially when the wins aren't coming with the circus.
Is Tang their Prohm?

Looks good early with existing talent, even though he didn't do much. Then once he is really in charge, its a total emperor has no clothes situation?

Shams is probably the most highly regarded basketball reporter out there. He wouldn't report on something if he didn't feel good about his sources. His entire profession is predicated around having accurate sources and not reporting misinformation.

But sure, if you feel like that sounds too much then just assume he's lying.
He's not lying, he's just reporting what agents likely fed him. Agents have reason to inflate values for leverage in other negotiations and to inflate the market over time.

I remember the story from the Hines article where Prohm was scouting IPFW and was telling Travis he has never seen a few of the sets they run. And Chris & Jared’s story that they came on a zoom interview and could Prohm listening to a Cyclonefanatic podcast in the background. Not good.

I don’t remember the story about the Zoom interview. Was it posted on here?

There was one article somewhere toward the last two seasons where the team was followed for a practice and the film session sounded like he'd ask a bunch of questions but nobody knew how to answer or no conclusions were made for corrections.

...until young kids (children) are not allowed to come to the games, then I'm opposed to chants like that. But I'm probably in the minority here. I'm sure when I was a student we yelled a bunch of bs stuff too.

He accused TJ of stealing in huddle information. Can you imagine the logistics of actually gaining advantage from something of that nature? Asinine.
Even better the K-State 247 guys had a zapruder like breakdown on their insider board of where Tang was pointing in the stands and who they thought was stealing the huddle calls and relaying it to TJ. It was wild.

What advantage would you actually gain? The accusations are just so incredibly stupid. The same goes for football sign stealing. You can tell 99% of people have no experience being in the heat of the moment. Most of the time you're barely able to get your own play called between plays let alone utilize some stolen call from the other team.

'all right guys we just spent 75% of our allotted time out working on something we wanted to do but now that we have stolen their information we're going to change everything we just use all that time on and somehow be ready to take advantage of this information in real time.'

Oh it's totally ridiculous. They literally show live shots on TV of coaches drawing out plays in the huddle. It's impossible to actually have enough time to relay that information and gain an advantage in real time.

Nearly impossible task to gain a minor advantage in a sport where your players have to freelance within the flow of the game. Totally legit.
