Bowls matter if you get the right sponsor/mascot!

The college game is insanely long. 2 hours into the Broncos game last night, they were just starting the 4th quarter.

7 minutes from the 2 hour mark and were still at halftime tonight.

I'd like if they could figure out how to correct this.

Put up ads in the corner of the screen for a few seconds or something.

One aspect of the CFP that kinda sucks is UI has an 11-1 season, but doesn’t get to play in a nice bowl game (assuming they lose). Shipped to a cold location that you can’t even get tickets unless you sell a kidney.

Does anyone know if the visiting team got allocated some tickets?

Yea, and looks like there are literally no UI fans that were able to get a ticket. Kinda feel for their fanbase after a great season.
They’re in the freakin’ first ever 12 team playoff with the entire country watching them. That’s insanely better than playing in the citrus bowl against Ole Miss or whoever.

If they wanted to go they could have paid for the tix.

Hard to tell with jackets on as most are black, but bowl games don’t matter, you take a playoff game over a bowl game every time no matter the result. Unless a miracle happens this will be the closest to home they ever play for a playoff

I thought I saw quite a bit of red dotted throughout the stadium.

I'd like to know the payout of a playoff game vs. bowl. I'm thinking a playoff is better for all sorts of reasons.

It’s better for the program. But for the fans that were looking forward to finally getting a nice bowl destination for a family vacation, it’s a bit of a letdown.

Bowl attendance is dwindling and best players don't even play in those games. I think any team out would happily trade

They still have the ability to take that warm family vacation and watch see their team in the playoff against one of most storied programs in the nation.

I seriously don’t get how people are even arguing this.

Is this a thing? I get some people might do it but using a bowl game for a family vacation seems super weird. Maybe 10-15 years ago but now?

Maybe this changes with the new playoff expansion, but ISU has always traveled well for bowls. Taking the family to Orlando or San Antonio has been fun. Similar to the fans that took the opportunity to go to Hawaii or Ireland next year.
