His Senior season was so special. It's like a light bulb went on. Played a TON of minutes and guided us back into what ISU bball should be.
DG & Brackins were very fun players to watch. Welcome back Diante!
His career arc is both success and tragedy.
Played 30+ minutes/game for two years but only 9ish points, then averaged 17 ppg his senior year.
Also had a great game in that win at KSU to close out the '09-10 regular season finale.
Lucca Staiger, I'm big guy and refuse to rebound, let me shoot the three. Wasn't sad when he left.I still don't know how this lineup...

Staiger/Christopherson
Gilstrap
Brackins

...wasn't at least an NCAA tournament team.
Yeah, it wasn't going to be playing much defense, but it should have been able to outscore enough people to at least limp into some sort of postseason in the weaker version of the Big 12 back then.
I still remember asking (somewhat rhetorically but somewhat not) @Alswelk...
"Where the hell was this the past three years?"
...when DG made a particularly athletic, spectacular play at the rim that fall.
His response summarized it perfectly --
"McDermott told him not to."

He was a SG. He wasn’t a big.
At least he was gone. You forgot 'I leave during season'.
He was big enough the lazy f*cker could have tried to get a board. He was no loss when he left. IMO.He was a SG. He wasn’t a big.
