You're pretty naive. Dude is about to be a millionaire, you don't risk that in a meaningless bowl game. CFP is a different matter, but the Pop Tarts Bowl? No way. Not if you're a lottery pick.
Cam Ward is currently a millionaire. He’s getting around 2 million dollars to play this year according to the people tracking this stuff. Pay for play has changed the game. With the amounts these high level players are getting paid, I hope to see them being required to play every game they are able, with penalties for not playing.
