Not exactly sure.
There were two play calls in the entire game that can be called "bad". However both of them (the pitch play to Hanson and the Noel rollout) have been very successful over the course of the season.

Mouse gets an A+ from me. There were a couple other calls that were genuis.
We scored 42 points, I can’t complain about the offense. Were there plays I would have called differently, yes but I’m sure I would have screwed the pooch when Mouse made the right call more often then he did.

The pass to klotz that didn't work still was a beautiful call. If Rocco leads him a bit more it's an easy completion

After turning to our guy while already in the end zone and continuing taunting, he lost the benefit of the doubt on that.
Maybe but I also just think that's part of the game. People have trash talked for all of time. If he was pointing at our players it should have been a penalty but it wasn't. Oh well, life goes on.

Clearly that doesn’t meet the textbook definition of taunting. As we know at Iowa State, breaking stride momentarily before crossing the goal line is the only clear punishable taunting penalty that exists.

I’ll go with the 90% good commentary. The first and second down play calls at the goal line were beyond mind boggling. Hes done this before where his calls get “cute” and in the Texas Tech game it cost us dearly.

I think the refs didn’t want to call that. There were several times where you could see refs getting into players faces and then chatting with their coach (never showed our coach so I don’t know) about things right after.

I mean a little trash talk is fine. I think pointing directly at the player is a different thing because it can be seen by everyone. Trash talking is only within ears range.

For the life of me I can’t remember this play. Saw Klotz had a reception for -4 yds but must’ve missed it

Looking back a day later

There is absolutely no doubt the Pop Tarts Bowl will replace the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange Bowls in importance to college football.

This sport is trying to suck the fun out of college athletics in the name of money.

We need this bowl. We need Keggy. We need FUN

Yes of course, but this is a silly argument you're making because the same result occurs if a pass play is successful on 1st down.

I don't think my next statement is necessary but I also think it would be silly to argue contrary to the following: Ideally that 4th down play is ran with <10 seconds on clock vs 56 seconds left on clock...

At that point in the game, you say screw the clock and run the play that you think will score. If you run off some clock and still score, that’s just gravy.

Should have been a last minute drive. Instead we left them with an opportunity for a last minute drive and a timeout. Look, I understand it worked out, and I'm happy it did, but it could have been handled so much better.
So at what level do you apply your coaching and clock management skills?;)

Its some mighty thick gravy in that situation though. Plus consider how well QB sneak/Dives have been I would have been 'most' happy with 2-3 (or even 4) of those in that final series.
