It was crazy they didn't know what to do with no timeouts on 4th and inches, then crazy he stepped backwards too...and he was their short yardage goal line QB all season, even before he became starter.
The torches are lit and the pitchforks are ready yet again in Iowa City. Never change Kirk “Average Joe” Ferentz! X is classic right now ranging from it should have been a penalty to fire Kirk before he gets back to Iowa City.
TavernHawk Hassel on the postgame reaction show saying these bowl games shouldn't count on team records, Iowa should be 8-4 and Iowa State should be 10-3.
ISU is 5-10 during the same period.
I’m somewhat surprised Iowa has played so few ranked teams.
Truth be known, Hassel subscribes to the White theory of success - games shouldn't count unless Iowa wins. It always comes back to:
1) Iowa is great and stupendous
2) If Iowa isn't great and stupendous, see #1
Hyperbole -sure - but there is a LOT of truth in there for most hoks.
They seem kind of cursed on QB play.
Crazy considering we could have 8 recent years of just Brock/Rocco.
Prior to adding the top of the Pac 12 the Big Ten has been a pretty bad football conference for many decades, with one really good program.
They're good now at the top via business moves.
The Big 12 almost always graded out better prior to their Pac kill shot, a few recent years the Big 12 even graded out better than just the Big Ten East without even including the West.
The B1G West really bottomed out in the last 4-5 years of its time and it didn't have that far to go. I'd guess that's a factor.
