CMC needs to remember who pays his salary. Bowl trips aren't cheap, so I can side with people who might be upset about Higgins not playing.

I don't feel like CW was ripping the coaching staff on the opt outs. He was more ripping the system as a whole.

And I think this rings especially true with the talks of price increases.

It's becoming a similar thing as the NBA's load management stuff a few years ago. If I can only afford to bring my family to one NBA game as a vacation, and the star player randomly doesn't play... that really sucks.
I can get on board that fans aren't owed anything when tickets are cheap and the players are amateurs. But this openly becoming big business and it's not fair for fans OR academic programs to expect the best of both worlds that they're used to.

Impatiently waiting for the new cyclone club levels to get communicated. I highly doubt the gold level is now $1800, they will round that up to $2000, which is a 33% increase.

My guess is the bigger increases are on the bottom levels, and the top will see nominal required increases. I am not saying that would be wrong. Also Wonder when they will change to each donation only gets option for two tickets as opposed to 4.

I'd argue there is no difference. It's not like everyone is drinking tea in the lots or smuggling in Diet Cokes.

We have Cy on alcohol labels. Our school mascot is a booze salesman.

Mix in some flash and flesh. Make it easy to get.

Print money. Sell the goddam beer. It's a new world.
But but but JP fee fees!

JP is too family values to allow it.
That's like saying the owner of a strip club won't allow the girls to take off their clothes.
Create an amazing tailgating experience where the drinking starts early and is excessive. Kids fully exposed to it. I mean it's not like the kids are being sheltered from it by not allowing it in the stadium.

Also just here to say being held hostage and exploited by ESPN really ******* sucks. Accept it and move on is what we do when we are ******* helpless, and it is a such a damn shame to be in this position.

The whole system is breaking, which we all agree to be the case, but nothing will change because we keep watching and paying, and letting a select few collect the checks from ESPN.

We need to find a way to put pressure on ESPN and the networks, they will keep the pedal to the floor until it flies off a cliff to the point of no return, taking every dollar from our pockets they can along the way.

Well at least gold is 2x as expensive as it was 3 years ago and you now get to park further from Hilton for MBB as a reward. Throw in that Cy's Town parking lots guarantee that the gold lot is the last one to clear out and it is all gravy!

Print money? How much revenue do you think we’d make off alcohol sales?

I am guessing JP has an issue with the value of the SEZ and beer sales throughout stadium.

If they disallow reentry with beer sales, there will be outrage as well from people who won’t stand in line for a $16 beer, although not sure how they figure out pricing. People will still bring in booze given how they price stuff.

CW - my opinion meant to be constructive -More on bball, football, less on NIL.
I get what you're saying but the bball and football you love will go way downhill if we can't keep it funded.

Good for you, seriously.

Nevertheless, requiring college coaches to report injuries and opt-outs will only help the gambling industry. Big 10/SEC/Network greed are already destroying college football. Adding more gambling influence only increases the money factor.
I believe mandated injury reports similar to the NFL are a necessity in the NIL era. The Utah/Cam Rising situation earlier this year highlighted that so long as fans and supporters are being asked to contribute money directly to the compensation of players, those fans will feel agency over the status of the players. If a programs are allowed to then hide the status of that player with regards to injury, it can lead to hostility towards both the program and the player because the supporters are being kept in the dark.

That is what happened with Whittingham and Rising as they tried to keep the health of the QB under wraps. Eventually the Utah fans and supporters got angry because they felt they were not given the truth with regards to their monetary support. It got to the point were the Utah fanbase was getting hostile towards a beloved coach and player. That situation could have been entirely headed off with more transparency.

Also, to a lesser extent, I think injury reports are beneficial for player agency because there is a more publicly available record of their health status for when they either enter the portal or the draft.

Make it individually. Would be easiest.
